Federal Judge in L.A. Strikes Down Trump’s Plan to Punish Sanctuary Cities

A federal judge in Los Angeles this week struck down the Trump administration’s policy of denying certain Department of Justice law enforcement grants to cities that adopt “sanctuary” policies and refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

U.S. District Judge Manuel Real issued a permanent, nationwide ban against a Justice Department policy that gave an edge to obliging police departments applying for a community policing grant program. In doing so, Real dealt a legal setback to the Trump administration in its aggressive campaign to crack down on illegal immigration and to force compliance from law enforcement officials.

The Trump administration should immediately seek the impeachment of this judge and bring him up on charges of obstruction of justice. Try the SOB and put his treasonous backside in prison. Enough of this (expletive deleted).

On what grounds? The feds set the rules for receiving the funds. That’s been a time and court tested rule.

YOU MUST GIVE US THE MONEY!!!

Trump should use this to destroy the fed powers once and for all - give the libs what they want.

Highway funds? Block them from states that adopt sancutary city status. Oh no - can’t block funding based on rules from the feds. Poof - just eliminated the federal speedway limit of 55.

Since they decided that “the rule of law is garbage” to quote Wisconsin’s newest supreme court judge. The law is whatever they say it is, when they say, and for how long they want it.

Why the heck do we have a 94 year old Federal Judge still on the bench?

He is senile and in his 90’s, appointed by LBJ and has been a real crackpot over the years.

So punishing states which don’t follow arbitrary mandatory speed limits, drinking ages, and smoking ages is good, ones which don’t follow federal laws regarding immigration is bad.

This is why the Founders gave the power of the purse to Congress. If Paul Ryan had any balls, he'd seek to defund that court or disband it. The courts are created by Congress and they can be disbanded by Congress.

Each branch has a check and balance against the others. Congress's check is to not send a check.

He’s made his ruling, now, let him try to enforce it.

“Why the heck do we have a 94 year old Federal Judge still on the bench? “

Probably for the same reason that we have Secular Progressive Capo Female Senators (Fineswine) who are 85, and OF’s like Grassley, Hatch and Shelby who are 84! And just think, the “youngster” in the over 80 group is Thud Cochran, and we all know he doesn’t know what time of day it is.

Take the oldest 8 Senators and they comprise 26% (246 years) of the total “years of service” of all 100 Senators. And take all of them who are over 70 (that would be 20 of them) and you have 45% (429 Years) of that total. They say we get the government we deserve by our voting patterns, so it looks like we are idiots.

Trump better find a way to crush these local Judges issuing nation wide rulings or everything he does will be stopped by a hundred local rat hack judges all over the country.

When we allow judges to trash the constitution, the BASIS FOR OUR FREE COUNTRY, the tree of liberty needs watering.

Any settler knew 200 years ago that when you stake out your place to build a little house and garden to call your own, STAKING OUT meant actual stakes, little borders of your homestead.

You can’t have ANYTHING without borders. Without parameters that determine what is yours, and what is not. No other country has zero borders.

Seriously. Mandatory retirement even for the mentally excellent for judges at 85. Enough. There are enough younger judges; we don’t need 100 year old judges on the bench.

It took decades (centuries?) to create the swamp. It’s not going to drain overnight.

The only thing he can do is point out that the judges making these rulings do not have the power to do so. And then put up with the caterwauling (sp?) it is sure to generate.
