US President Donald Trump has hailed an overnight military strike on Syria as "perfectly executed", adding: "Mission Accomplished".

The US, UK and France attacked three government sites, targeting what they said were chemical weapons facilities.

More than 100 missiles struck in response to a suspected deadly chemical attack on the town of Douma last week.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he condemned the Western strikes "in the most serious way".

I don’t see the connection.

I don’t see the connection.

That was obvious to me from your comments.
Clue: winning bigly

That is because there isn’t a connection. Since we won, does that mean we leave Syria?

The British fund a number of ‘indigenous’ Syrian NGOs...the White Helmets and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights are two that come to mind immediately.

The notion that Britain doesn't have covert tentacles in Syria is the absurd position, not vice versa.

That is because there isn’t a connection.

Just because you do not see it does not mean it isn't staring you down. You still have not explained your claim to fame in Afghanistan; doesn't mean you aren't there.

Since we won, does that mean we leave Syria?

It means, with God's grace, we go on winning bigly

  1. What are the existential threats our nation faces?
  2. What are some impediments to dealing with one of those threats?
  3. Which impediments did President Trump just weaken, or even remove?

My “notion” is that May does not have the male genitalia to order a chemical warfare false flag attack in Syria. She is the most risk averse politician you will find.

I don't remember that.

Are you old enough to remember watching GW Bush debate Al Gore?

I guess I am just not as brilliant as you are. I don’t see anything good coming from this but it is already done. I hope that is the end of it.

The fact that Theresa May is an incompetent European deep state puppet is concerning, but does not reduce the likelihood that British special forces were involved in Douma.

The claim was that Bush 43 said we wouldn't be Iraq long term.

We didn't stay long term in Iraq after the first Persian Gulf war. We protected Kuwait and didn't stick around. We definitely won that war.

You claimed George W. Bush claimed that we weren't going to stay in Iraq long term after the Iraq war started. He never said that.

You're moving the goalposts because you can't prove your claim.

So does the Iranian regime; this President is not going to kick that can down the road either, unlike his predecessors.

Oh, and what other nations with modern weaponry joined in without a new UN resolution, or new Congressional approval?

Bush told everybody it would be a 17 year thing?

He absolutely did make it clear we needed to stay in Iraq until it was a stable democracy and that might take a considerable period of time:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/10/bush.transcript/

The consequences of failure are clear: Radical Islamic extremists would grow in strength and gain new recruits. They would be in a better position to topple moderate governments, create chaos in the region, and use oil revenues to fund their ambitions. Iran would be emboldened in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. Our enemies would have a safe haven from which to plan and launch attacks on the American people. On September the 11th, 2001, we saw what a refuge for extremists on the other side of the world could bring to the streets of our own cities. For the safety of our people, America must succeed in Iraq.

And, he was right about that. It was moronic for Obama to live Iraq too early. Once we were there, we shouldn't have left and let ISIS takeover much of the country.

The war was a mistake but so was leaving too early.

9/11, justifiably, changed his mind.

It's absurd to imply he was lying when his comments were before 9/11.

Bush 43 is George W Bush...I hope you understand that because nothing you’re saying about Bush 43 and Kuwait makes any sense.

You jumped into the middle of the conservation. I had been discussing both Iraq wars. Stay the hell of it if you can't follow the discussion from the start.

We won the first Iraq war. Someone claimed we didn't.

George W. Bush never claimed once that we weren't in Iraq for the long term after we went to Iraq the second time. Who gives a damn what he said before 9/11 about nation building? The world changed after 9/11.

You are right about that, I think that once we were in we should have stayed. The problem is that a US President cannot set policy beyond his time in office. I guess the lesson should be that if wars cannot be concluded fairly quickly it is probably wise not to start them in the first place.

Surely you just. Wait for it......She is riding her broom, heading back to the country that rejected her, and about to proclaim what her deep state will do next. Here is a clue, she has asked for it before. This time she will demand it.

that is a ridiculous hope.

History is a process, not an event

The historical process is in process and need not be strangled by small minded hopes
