Doesn’t the Bank of America have a board of directors whose job is to maximize profits?
Turning away business goes against the concept of earning money.
I’m so glad that I discontinued my decades long relationship with them a few years ago.
My 401K is through wells Fargo who I also can’t stand. The company is ditching them in June for someone else.
And they need to change their name from Bank of America to Bank of the Communist Enterprise.
BOA has been anti gun going back over a decade. Nothing new here. They are on my Levi Strauss, Auto Zone, Dicks etc etc. $h!t list
Bank of America will not make loans to firearms manufacturers but Bank of America makes loans to illegal aliens. When the illegal aliens with fake names default and disappear “into the shadows” Bank of America passes the cost of the illegal alien loans on to the rest of us.
And BAC....I'd check with my attorneys first cuz it sounds like it may be illegal. After all, there is a 2nd amendment.
Glad you like them. Don’t move to another state for a job and leave your family at home while you try to sell the house. They might call you about suspicious activity on your ATM card. Then, a hypothetical 45 minute conversation discovers no unusual activity.
Then, the next day, you hypothetically need some cash and the ATM eats your card. A phone call determines that the guy you spoke with for 45 minutes the day before canceled your card, thus leaving you penniless 600 miles from home.
A request for a new card is handled, but they refuse to ship it to your temporary address unless you can provide them with the password you used when you opened the account 28 years previously, when passwords didn’t exist.
A 90 minute conversation at the local branch shows that the east coast branches don’t communicate with Midwest branches
You then get to live with no cash for the next three weeks until you get back home for a brief family visit.
Yea, that’s my experience with my former bank of America.
In a free market, they could announce this, and other banks could decide to do this business or not
In our highly political, federalized market and centrally-planned monetary system, BoA’s statement has a political impact.
I have a large sum of money in BoA. When I found out I called last night and ripped them a new one. Told them that they must terminate Finucane, rescind this policy within a week or I will terminate my business with them. My complaint has been taken seriously and has been escalated to top management. I also posted what I did along with this article in a place where 4.3 million gun owners can see it. Then left them with that. The butt hurt on the other end of the line was extreme.
I’d love to see some businesses push back.
If it could be framed as a violation of the manufacturer’s rights, it would be a great thing.
See my post#29. Make the threat it will work.
This is why large banks like B of A must be broken up. Their market power must be whittled down to size in order to provide the nation’s borrowers with choices untainted by ideology.
Good on ya
Same for me, only since 1964 not sure if something I would do just yet. Will wait and see what else transpires, all of these Banking industries are Vile in their own way and pushing us to go totally Cash.
That’s indeed a terrible situation. I’ll grant you that, and I’m sorry you had to go through it.
My bad experience with a bank doesn’t compare, but it sure frosted me at the time.
I had just received the first paycheck at a new job. It was a corporate check from a well known corporation.
I used it to open a bank account across the street from my place of employment.
The transaction had all taken place. Stupid kid, I forgot to ask them when I could start withdrawing funds. I had just returned to work. They told me 7-10 days. I asked them why they hadn’t informed me of that. I got the usual runaround.
I walked back to the bank, demanded the check back, and cancelled the new account.
Most folks can’t wait for 7-10 days for an account to kick in after starting a new job.
I’m sure there are horror stories about most banks.
Very good. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hope they got good lawyers.
I’m a little unsure if my account was actually opened in 1988. It may have been earlier.
That 1964 figures is pretty impressive.
You and I have about the same take on it. I think it’s reasoned.
Take care.
We must be on our toes, since just about any rifle can be considered a military weapon. Examples, 30 06 Springfield bolt action, Model 1894 Marlin or 1894 Winchester lever action, and pump action shotguns are also used by the military.
