The Ideology of Illegal Immigration
National Review ^ | April 10, 2018 | By VICTOR DAVIS HANSON

Posted on 04/11/2018 6:08:11 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

llegal immigration has become so deeply embedded for so long within contemporary power politics, demography, and cultural change, so charged with accusations of racism, nativism, and xenophobia, that we have forgotten its intrinsic contradictions.

We saw a glimpse of reality with the recent “caravan” of Central Americans. With a strong wink and nod from their Mexican hosts, the travelers assumed an intrinsic right to march northward into the United States. Had they done so, they would have confirmed the impression, advanced during the last administration, that the border is porous and that a sovereign United States and its citizenry have scant legal right to secure it.

How did we get to such a point of absurdity?

The ideology of illegal immigration rests on certain illogical assumptions that must not be questioned. Immigration exactly is one-way. But why exactly do we simply accept that without inquiry? What is it about a free-market, constitutional, transparent, and law-abiding America that draws in millions desperate to abandon their homes in otherwise naturally rich landscapes in Mexico and Central America?

In the absence of intellectual honesty about the need for political and economic reform in Latin America, mythologies can abound. Millions are desperate to enter a country antithetical to the protocols of their own. They are even more desperate to stay here — even as many mask that paradox by expressing ethnic and cultural chauvinism, along with anger at their hosts. Witness the signs, flags, and symbols of many open-borders, anti-immigration-enforcement rallies. Apparently, nations that create conditions that drive out their own can be the objects of romance, but only at a safe distance.

Numerous reports say there are over 12 million illegal aliens in the US. That equals the combined population of Idaho, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, DC, Vermont and Wyoming.

So you may think we have 50 States, but we really have 37 states and 13 occupied territories. Think about it ...

There are 10 million just in California.

This is an easy answer, They want their Slaves and Slave class. Divide and Conquer. It is nothing more than the desire to have control over your fellow man, in other words they are just Evil People.

Illegal immigration is a corrupt bargain among political elites

3rd world elites export their problem citizens to avoid making any changes at home

Leftist 1st world politicians see illegals as low information, easy to manipulate voters as well as, wrongly, replenishment tax payers to keep funding the welfare state. They need someone to replace the millions of taxpayers they been busy aborting the last 40 years.

Supposedly “right” 1st world politicians do what their big business donors tell them to do. The Donor class wants to flood the zone with cheap workers to undercut the domestic work force and keep labor costs low.

I believe the caravan plan is to infiltrate into California and re-form using activists and other illegals to make up the numbers lost. Then they will have a parade through LA, pretending to be the exact same caravan. If ICE arrests them the Open Border Lobby gets the “optics” they want. If ICE doesn’t arrest them they have succeeded in sticking another thumb in the eye of America. Win-Win for them.

I think the number being floated at the beginning of 0bama’s reign was 11 million, which was probably a low-ball estimate, if even any effort was made to offer a reliable figure.

Based on 0bama’s open-borders policies, my guesss is that the actual number by 2018 is in the range of (at least) 40-50 million in the entire US. JMHO

VDH always uses the small stuff to make his point. It’s stuff that people surrounded by illegal immigration live with every day. Garbage along the roads, identity theft....just pure lawlessness. Like living in a third world.

There has been a bipartisan plan to steal the country from the citizens by flooding it with foreigners through non-enforcement of laws and borders.
Since the last amnesty the GOP has only nominated amnesty candidates, forcing their voters to vote for their own demise.

The 11 million number has been around since GWB took office and first tried for amnesty until 9/11 got in the way.

A sobering thought.

You know you're in such a territory when the display of the Stars and Stripes is met with derision (milder cases) and violent conflict (more extreme cases).

Arrest? Come on, what you do is shoot them.
They are first and foremost invaders — not unarmed civilians. Simply release the real immigration numbers, which are probably in excess of 30 million [~10% of the census-population of the US], declare a state of invasion, and start going on the offense.

Let's quit with the BS and state things as they are: we either have a country with sovereign borders, or we do not have a country.
It's that simple.

That’s stupid.
When has amnesty EVER worked for us? With Regan? Please.

No, doing that is rolling over, signalling that “really, it’s ok if you violate our rules regarding immigration and/or visa”. In fact, it works into the elite plan to simply import a new people and culture, replacing the current one with one that is not only OK with corruption, but expects it. Why do you think they’re putting forth such a big push to ban private firearms? Would this have flown, at all, in the US sixty years ago?

How about workplace enforcement with the fines that are currently in place, and a 33% tax on money wired out of the country by non-citizens.

It’s been 12 million for over 12 years.

I’m going to estimate at least 25 million by now.
