Gowdy: ‘I Would Love for Tim Scott to Run for President’

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) threw fellow GOP South Carolina Congressman Tim Scott’s name out as a future presidential candidate.

“I would love Tim Scott to run for president,” Gowdy stated. “Whether it’s 2024, whenever it fits his heart, but he has a cheery, optimistic brand of conservatism that I think our country would benefit from and, quite frankly, whether he won or not, our country would be better off hearing someone with his life story, the grandson of man who couldn’t read, picked cotton, then he grew up to pick out a seat in the United States House of Representatives. That’s a story I wish my fellow citizens could hear.”

It would really be great if Gowdy would quit playing media whore and do his job.

Every other member of the South Carolina Congressional delegation is a Cheap Labor Express stooge, Gowdy included, why should I believe that Tim Scott is not?

Huh? He has no job. Congress gave up their investigative powers long ago. He’s good.

We all knew Gowdy was a compromised jerk—but this is pathetic.

And no, Scott isn’t presidential material.

I’ve got news for Pointy Head: no one gives a damn that somebody had a granddaddy who couldn’t read. It didn’t help John Edwards and it didn’t help Kasich. Those days are over.

He did do his job, in fact so well that it was the catalyst that took down Hillary for President. That and well you have a warped understanding of what Cogress’ Constitutional powers entail or just swept up in populist movement hysteria.

You pick

+1
Gowdy, ever the back bencher. A lot of talk with little action.

That was necessary why? He is an honorable man and has more knowledge of law and the Constitution in his little tie than 99% of those that choose to disparage him.

That and he could care less what you think of him.

Ok so I appreciate everything Gowdy Doody has done, but he needs to get all the way inside the Trump Train.

With his supposed knowledge of the Constitution, he should be calling out the unconstitutional special counsel.

Instead he gives him ammo and says Trump should have to “act innocent” because the Mueller clownshow has declared him guilty of something as soon as he can fabricate it.

Let me take some time to educate you.

For the last time, it isn’t Gowdy’s job to take scalps. That is the job within the FBI and DOJ. And oh might I add while Gowdy uncovered crimes it was occurring under a Democratic White House, a Democrat DOJ, a Democrat FBI and a little morsel you fail to mention all the crime players in place today were in power and in place during his investigations.
But wait a minute, all that evidence unearthed by Gowdy proving crimes that were committed didn’t magically vanish;it’s still there. It’s THIS ADMINISTRATION’S DOJ that’s on the hook. Not Gowdy, not Issa, not Congress but this DOJ.

“Trey Gowdy cannot:
1) Convene a Grand Jury
2) Present Evidence to It
3) Issue an Indictment
4) Present charges to Federal or State Court
5) Plead those charges in front of a jury
6) Convict anyone of anything
7) Pass a sentence or imprison anyone.

NOW. WTF exactly were you expecting the dude to do?”
The “get Gowdy crew” always has some emotional drivel to spew due to their frustrations with an inept DOJ under this administration. It’s funny how there’s no mention of Sessions still having a job and why Mueller has yet to be fired.

Does this not also show confidence in the special investigator by our own President as well as full confidence of our President in Sessions? They superimpose upon Gowdy the all mighty power of Judge Dredd. The evidence that he uncovered (as much as it angers the “get Gowdy crew”) hasn’t magically vaporized. There’s so much there a law student undergrad could get indictments and convictions. Yet that is somehow Gowdy”s job.

The circus never ceases, SMDH
Rep. Gowdy’s work with the House Select Committee on Benghazi is what started the downfall of Hillary Clinton and set the stage for the election of President Trump. Gowdy got tagged with the Chair of the committee. It was his investigatory work that turned up and made public the fact that Clinton was using a private server to store her official and classified e-mails instead of the legally mandated State Department server.

Because of this discovery operatives in the FBI, CIA and NSA among others had to CY Hillary’s A. Trump was able to rightfully campaign on the issue of two-tiered justice where submariner’s go to jail and liberal elites get rich. The cover up was almost as bad as the crime. Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page all have been ensnared with the cover-up and has undermined the Mueller investigation.

Speaking of, because of Hillary’s weakness the Obama cabal had to concoct the Steele dossier which if IG Horowitz is the investigator that I think he is will provide Gowdy and Jeff Sessions, that’s right Sessions, with plenty of ammo to take a big bite out of the swamp. Gowdy’s work on Benghazi was the opening salvo in making all of this happen. He did his investigation the right way. He had dimotards like Elijah Cummings, the MSM, deep state operatives like Comey and Lynch working against him.

If he had been the director of the FBI I have no doubt that Hillary would be in jail but as a House committee chair he didn’t have that constitutional mandate. I am beginning to believe that Gowdy is scaring the bejesus out of folks and that he is why he is being attacked so aggressively. You Gowdy haters need to step back and take a deep breath. He has and folks like Jason Chavetz and others created the conditions to take down the deep state. Cut the man some slack.”
