Two new reports have found out just how much your data is worth on the Dark Web. Content marketing agency Fractl analyzed, over several days last month, all of the fraud-related listings on three Dark Web marketplaces — Dream, Point and Wall Street Market – the results of which were obtained via MarketWatch. MarketWatch indicates that an individual’s Gmail account can be purchased for as little as $1, while Facebook credentials go for around $5.20. Paypal accounts average $247.00.

You can't just access it, you need to download a special browser like TOR (the onion router). I don't think you'd want to though...watch this video for an overview of the Dark Web.

What is the "Dark Web" and how does it work?

What exactly do they do with this information? Is it just to ram advertising in my face? They should know that I have an incredibly low tolerance for aggressive advertising when I am not specifically google searching something. I will never ever buy anything that is pushed in my face and if the pushing is agregious enough I have a database full of names I will never buy from. I will also never buy from anybody who calls my cell phone. Anybody who stuffs my mail box or emailbox. And if I give anything to any charity, and suddenly afterward my mailbox fills to the brim with pleas from other charities, the original charity and every charity that flooded my mail goes into the database

Be careful, if you (or they) click on the wrong stuff and there’s child porn, classified material, etc. and you accidentally download contraband to your computer, that could be bad.

It depends on the information they obtain. Online accounts like Amazon, Walmart, or whatnot....they can possibly enjoy a shopping spree paid for by you.
