Friend of dead Putin critic was strangled, British police say

British police launched a murder investigation Friday after an autopsy revealed that a Russian exile who was critical of Vladimir Putin was strangled in his home.

Nikolay Glushkov, whose body was found Monday, died as a result of “compression to the neck,” London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Glushkov's death was a eerie echo of his friend Boris Berezovsky, an exiled Russian oligarch and an outspoken critic of Putin who was found in 2013 with a rope around his neck — and whose death was initially a suspected suicide. It was reclassified as unexplained.

Putin seems more heavyhanded in controlling his citizens here lately. Or maybe we just find out more incidents in this internet age. I have not heard about this many poisonings, chokings and politically motivated beat downs since the Cold War. One after another. You have to wonder, is he worried about losing his position, moreso than usual? Both Nikki Haley and Prime Minister May of Britain think yes.

The intel agencies once had a gentleman’s agreement not to kill defectors as it is bad for business.

“The late journalist Anna Politkovskaya was murdered in the lift of her apartment block in 2006. In this extract from Putin’s Russia, she delves into Russian society to find tales of corruption leaking down from the Kremlin, and her country’s return to totalitarianism”

Last point:

“Unlike in Litvinenko Case, Putin Wanted Moscow’s Involvement in Skripal Attack to Come Out, Milshetyn Says”

“The murder of Litvinenko, the author of The FSB Blows Up Russia, was like the bombings of the apartment houses in 1999: everything pointed in one direction, but it was circumstantial rather than definitive; and thus his death became as it were “part of the psychological war of Russia and the West and its own compatriots.”

Maybe the intention is to make Putin look like the heavy hand. I dont believe anyone when it comes to what’s going on over there. The Brits have been dirty double agents since the days of the Czars.

I read somewhere that the Brits are going to start taking a second look at any deaths of Russian emigres going back ten years or more that were not obviously natural causes. If true I think that’s a good idea.

If Putin converted to Islam he’d get a free pass in Britain. He could even rape some 11 year old girls and be good to go.

Or maybe the lessons are mutually shared...our own Deep State and Media gets its cues from the Soviet Union/Modern Russia and then projects they own behavior onto Trump.

Russian gas accounts for about a third of the natural gas consumed in Europe and natural gas accounts for about 21% of Europe’s energy consumption. 7% of the total energy supply is a nice thing to have but it doesn’t mean they’ve got them by the balls.
