Someone's already posted it, but here's the text from your link:
MCM - Munilla Construction Management 1 hr · Our familys thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. The new UniversityCity Bridge, which was under construction, experienced a catastrophic collapse causing injuries and loss of life. MCM is a family business and we are all devastated and doing everything we can to assist. We will conduct a full investigation to determine exactly what went wrong and will cooperate with investigators on scene in every way.

The bridge was constructed using an innovative approach to bridge construction
a technique meant to reduce potential risks to workers, commuters and
pedestrians and prevented traffic tie-ups in the area...........
This bridge didn't come close to meeting its' intended purpose...

I’m embarrassed. The USA badly needs infrastructure.
We should be good at it ...

Civil engineer chiming in here ...
Apparently this section of the pedestrian bridge was installed within the last week or so. The likely cause of this collapse is one of the following:
1. Error(s) in the design.
2. Error(s) in the construction procedures (maybe more likely than a design flaw, with a precast concrete bridge).
3. Materials that didn't meet the design specs.
Of course, this is all based on the assumption that the bridge wasn't struck by an oversized truck or something of that sort.

“X” is a chromosome. Being male, you got shortchanged and only got one. Women have all the luck.

Couldn’t agree more. That there aren’t cranes there says everything you need to know about that corrupt county.
When they peel this back, this ‘family company’ who won the bid is going to be connected to a pol. I’m more sure of that than I am the sun setting tonight.
Imagine this during a class change with 75 people inside of it. See how it crushed down on itself?
To: CedarDave
Yep. Crazy. This bridge will be a prime example of total failure in architect/engineering classes for years to come.

Especially since it was designed to be supported by a suspension system. Concrete is great under compression but cannot withstand tension. The cantilevered section could not withstand the tension over it’s length.

Probably a good call.
Except they can’t call it “infrastructure rebuilding,” can they?
To: BunnySlippers
Im embarrassed. The USA badly needs infrastructure. We should be good at it ... We used to worry about bridges over 50 years old, now we worry about bridges over 50 minutes old. Trump is right, we're falling apart at the seams.

That is probably not rebar, but the ends of post tensioning steel. Prestresed concrete includes steel elements.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but maybe some unnoticeable damage was done when they had to twist the structure 90 degrees to line it up for installation.
