NY Post mocks Trump's ouster of Tillerson: 'Worst Rex he ever had'

The New York Post took a jab at the ousting of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson by riffing on an old headline that featured President Trump.

“Worst Rex He Ever Had,” Wednesday's front page reads. The headline is a reference to a 1990 front page that quoted Marla Maples saying Trump, her soon-to-be husband, was the “Best Sex I’ve Ever Had.”

The two were married in 1993 and divorced in 1999.

Wednesday’s front page quickly went viral on social media.

Tillerson said his term as the nation's top diplomat will end at midnight on March 31. Until then, Tillerson is delegating his responsibilities to Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.

If he's delegating all his work to his deputy then what is he hanging around till March 31 for?

President Trump doesn’t understand how government works. It is customary for the President to appoint the loser of the primaries to be SoS. That person won’t be the best or good for the country but as in Illarys case it gave her face time and practice to run for president next time.

Instead, the foolish Trump appoints people who are focused on their job and doing what is best for the country instead of people who are just killing time until the next election.

Tweeting a pink slip to a Cabinet officer serving as Secretary of State - especially an accomplished captain of industry and highly respected man, is a catastrophic failure of statesmanship, and makes the United States President look childish and petulant, The United States Government is not a TV reality game.

Really the news out of Washington is so ridiculous I can hardly read it (never watch it) - but this one is beyond the pale and great fodder for all President Trump’s critics.

A bad pun which requires knowledge of a inconsequential story from almost 30 years ago?

These people are scrapping the bottom.

Tillerson was told on Friday to expect that he would be fired by tweet: “...he had gotten an oblique warning of what was coming the previous Friday from the White House chief of staff, John F. Kelly, who called to tell him to cut short a trip to Africa and advised him “you may get a tweet.” “ https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/13/us/politics/trump-tillerson-pompeo.html So was told to return home from his African trip and told to expect to be fired by tweet. And the president did speak to him a few hours later. (Same source) Perhaps if he wanted better treatment, Tillerson should not have called the President a moron (never denied).

Tillerson wasn’t up to or willing to reign in State, nor fight for us on foreign shores. He did nothing but get in the way with North Korea and Iran, and seemed to back all his friends in the European Union over Trump. That ship isn’t going to float.

He was told to resign or be fired and he did not resign.
