President Trump has ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and replaced him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, orchestrating a major change to his national security team amid delicate negotiations with North Korea, White House officials said Tuesday.

Trump last Friday asked Tillerson to step aside, and the embattled top diplomat cut short his trip to Africa on Monday to return to Washington.

Tillerson never jived with Trump in my opinion. He was recommended by Condi Rice and Dick Cheney. He was an establishment guy, and I knew and said last year he was a bad fit. He was. Poor Rudy, though. He should have been Secretary of State initially.

I will say this, I do not approve of firing Tillerson via Tweet...on an election day too. That’s not right. Call the man first, tell him, and then make an announcement on Twitter afterwards. That’s not fair to do to someone.

Trump is a real executive from the private sector. Produce or perish.

Yes; amazing! I’m hoping that Pompeo, with Trump’s behind-the-scenes efforts to break the stranglehold of the public union preventing firing, will be able to unblock the logjam.

Remember that Tillerson undercut Trump last fall when Trump went hard on little Rocket Man and Tillerson was saying their needed to be talks with them. Trump's position has brought the NK dictator to the table but with the US in charge.

Isn't Trump going to do exactly what Tillerson said, start talks?

It's not the same. We put increasing pressure on the little rocket man with a show of military force and stiff sanctions and China helped too, though at a much lower level of effort. The combined efforts squeezed him enough that he is now calling for talks without us removing any of our pressure. And Kim Jong Un has said he won't do any nuclear and ballistic missile testing during the period up to the talks.

Our entering talks without holding a heavy club would only produce more of the same results as in previous administrations, and that is where Tillerson was going.

Ah, that makes sense.

It’s an existential issue for everyone, including the idiot snowflakes. Burke said, “for evil to triumph, all that’s necessary is for good men to do nothing.” Even if you have some good men doing something, though, evil can still triumph if mediocre men meander around, getting in the way of the good men’s action. Got to do something with the mediocre men, either recruit them, or at least get them out of the way. Tillerson, despite his experience and knowledge, is well out of the way.

I heard that Trump asked for his resignation last week...so I guess Tillerson decided to wait and see....

Somehow, he thought Trump did not have the balls to pull the trigger..hehehe

Silent knight might be on to something.

Putin is really happy about the switch from mild mannered, Rex Tillerson to Madman Mike Pompeo!
Lol.
Sure.
That’s the ticket.

Whatever works to defeat the aims of globalism is good.

Whatever allows the further advance of globalism is bad.

Those are my only standards in trying to assess good or bad in any Trump decision, policy, or action. Of course he is far better than any alternative. But that doesn’t mean that things are going as well as we might hope.

This may prove to be a minor change in those terms.

But if Trump is looking for somebody to fire, well there’s somebody near the top of the justice pyramid who has done a lot less than we need to see.

It may be symbolic rather than deep structure, but as long as the Clintons walk around free and uncharged with their various crimes, we are losing and globalism is winning.

And now we have Soros openly saying that Trump will “disappear” before 2020. That is an open threat given the power of the man saying so, even if you or I said this in public we might be investigated for it.

This is frustrating for many of us, I suppose — we trust and realize that there is no plan B, but we do want plan A to work. The tasks are enormous, fighting a quasi-successful revolution that still holds a lot of power is a road unfamiliar to all of us, we might know about revolutions in history, but successful counter-revolutions tend to be very limited affairs such as the “overthrow of communism” in the USSR. You tell me how far they threw communism.

He was a puppet of Condi’s, which makes him a Bush globalist

BINGO, Before the inauguration I said Trump is smart enough to survive, he will figure out what the game is and how to play his cards. Trump knows that his choices are to play along and work with the cards that are dealt, if he tries to resist too much he will be assassanated like Kennedy, ....that's why I think Pompeo is a good choice, NOT because Pompeo is a good man for the job,

IMO the CIA is rotten to the core, the center of the swamp, and Pompeo is a creature from there

“called Trump an idiot,”

I think he called him a F’ing moron.

That is grounds for dismissal, don’t you think?

Rush Limbaugh reported Tuesday that Secretary Tillerson was running a rogue operation—in concert with sympathetic European counterparts—to save the Iran deal. He sought to water down the President's instructions regarding the extensive fixes that Mr. Trump wanted.

Rex Tillerson was thus undermining his own President, who clearly intended to scrap the Iran deal altogether—or at least make major adjustments to it. When the President became aware of the Secretary of State's shenanigans, he sacked Tillerson, and rightly so...
