Trump’s Stunningly Effective North Korea Policy Leaves Professional Diplomatic Corps Gobsmacked
CTH ^ | March 8, 2018

The statement tonight by South Korean National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong is so jaw-dropping in significance it has left the professional diplomatic apparatus stunned.

A year of targeted and strategic geopolitical policy execution by President Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has resulted in North Korean leader Kim Jong-un accepting denuclearization and requesting a meeting with President Trump to achieve terms therein.

The possibility of a willingly denuclearized Korean peninsular is such an astounding policy victory; it is difficult to conceptualize. Here’s the statement from South Korea’s Chung Eui-yong:

“Good evening, today I had the privilege of briefing President Trump on my recent visit to Pyongyang, North Korea. I’d like to thank President Trump, the vice-president and his wonderful national security team, including my close friend General McMaster.”

“I thanked President Trump that his leadership, and his maximum pressure policy together with international solidarity, brought us to this juncture. I expressed President Moon Jae-in’s personal gratitude for President Trump’s leadership.”

“I told President Trump that in our meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said he is committed to denuclearization. Kim pledged that North Korea will refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests; he understands that the routine joint military exercises between the Republic of Korea and the United States must continue. And he expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible.”

I hammered away at the perfidy of CNN on their attitude to the President. I could not figure it out why the post suddenly disappeared.

Oh well, I should not complain.

Do the Norks even have a plane that could fly nonstop to the US?

Yes, I am serious.

Why not complain?

It was a decent article and thread and it does not come up in the FR search engine and manually searching through today’s threads I can’t find it there either.

Thanks for your reply. I have always held it that the people who run any website do have the final say. Just the way I think however.

So do I but that’s not the same as saying the users have no say.

The ONLY real trustworthy peace that can be reached regarding NK depends on the permanent removal of Kim Jong-un. By “permanent”, I leave it to your imaginations.

Fatboy’s got no chance..neither China nor Russia want to deal with the thug any longer.

Trump simply treated FatBoy as the thug he is.....Besides you cannot really call N.Korea a communist state even as it's actually a mafia type control by a family and it's cohorts.... Five of the six Officials who were ball bearers at Kim Ills funeral were executed when Fatboy took over...one of which by firing an antiaircraft shell at him because it was said.. ‘No remnant of him should remain”....

It’s a bit premature, but I expected DjT to solve this with some tough talk backed with action. Middle east will also be resolved...things are changing there.

Realistically. Remember when that test cave collapsed leaving 200+ of NK top scientist and technicians dead? You really don’t think that was an act of God? The TRUMPet sounded!
Search.
(There was even a thread on FR. That no one seemed to notice)

“Kim pledged that North Korea will refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests; ”

Trump won. I said that as soon as I heard the South Korean national security advisor say this. And yet all the coverage by the media didn’t give trump any credit at all. That’s on Fox news. Moving to CNN, they were somewhat critical of Trump although they didn’t say exactly what for. They tried to spin that the South Korean said the nuclear testing would stop Only during the talks. But that’s not it all what he said.

Irregardless, I still say that Trump won.

Not to mention Trump stood the entire U.S. media and the crowns of corruption in D.C. on their heads.

It was posted to a thread pulled as a duplicate. Had nothing to do with the merits of your post.

I’m NOT worried about DJT’s negotiating abilities, nor am I worried about there being any naivety in his WH. I’m simply stating what everybody including DJT knows, but apparently KJU doesn’t, and that is KJU thinks he’s up to the task of negotiating with DJT when in fact he should be capitulating.

That sounds like complete capitulation. If the statement is 100% accurate then I must say, I’m impressed. We’ll see though. I’m sure CNN is doing wall to wall coverage of this major development...
