Nightmares still wake me up, effects what I watch on TV till this day, I get moody around Thanksgiving-New Years and it’s over till next year. This year was worse as I’d just lost my brother to a massive heart attack a few months before.
The only thing Oxy, Dilauded, Morphine, Codine do is make me puke, never and give me brain/heart rushes that hurt. Never saw a high out of them. With Gastropresis which is Slow Digestion they are not a frequent option. As the other side effect of Opioids is a shut down bowel system.
Take a good look at this report on the VA Opioid Fueld Crisis Killing Veterans has lots of Stats on other Phyche drugs, and it’s not out of date Stats like most ‘experts’ site.

I believe the medical profession needs to improve their skill for getting people off pain meds, by a great deal.

PIG PHARMA makes thousands of UNSAFE DRUGS the FDA approves yearly. Then turns around and Flags and Black Box them, but NEVER removes them from the market.
I should know half my health problems are FDA APPROVED PIG PHARMA drug caused. ALL those Osteoarthritis drus are Black Boxed for Heart/GI, those PPI’s Nexium etc. should be for GI/Osteoprosis. Didn’t have those health issues until Osteo A developed, then needed the PPI to treat the Reflux which caused More GI issues and Osteoprosis and a Degenerative spine which caused Neuropathy. I’ve not drawn a pain free breathe in 30 yrs. Nor can I SUE them for causing these conditions. Try reporting a side effect, even a Congressional aide can’t access that STUPID Bad Drug Hot Line it’s so complicated.
Tylenol 3 which is Codine which is found in some cough syrups is a Opioid, Dilauded, Vicodent, NORCO, Morphine, Percoset, Darvoset, Xanax, Valium, any drug that is ADDICTIVE classified as a Opioid, their are 5 classes, with drugs like Xanax, Valium being class 4 these are seisure and Panic/anxeity drugs, LOMOTIL, BENTYL which are anti-spasm drugs are class 5. The lower the class supposed less addictive. But drugs like are not classed as a Opioid Lyrica, Neurotin, Cymbalta Klonopin are MORE addictive than Dilauded which is the general pain med most hospitals use at a lower dose today than they did 2 yrs ago even for gun shot victims or post surgery.
Even your anthesia if it is Fentinal Citrate is a form of Fentynal which is a Opioid, it’s not commonly used, as VERSED is the more commonly used, it is a product of the goverment MIND WIPE experiments makes a great anthesia even for long surgeries has less complications for heart patients that older ones.

Mercat, I am so very sorry for your loss.
Pain patients seldom abuse or become addicted to their medication.
If the source of their pain goes away they stop the medicine.
Some people will need pain medicine for life and should not be denied because of addicts.
Most heroin addicts did NOT start with pain meds.
