I sure overlooked the tune in your post.

I cannot recall hearing the Rip Van Winkle tune.

I cannot recall hearing the Rip Van Winkle tune.

It dates from the early 1960's.

If Trump fires him now, the Senate Democrats would create a living hell for Trump’s next nomination.

You are probably right about that. But, sometimes you just have to do what’s right and deal with the blowback. I do think your approach has merit. The best defense is often a good offense.

The DOJ is a cesspool of partisan corruption and it simply has to be cleaned out. It would be a great place to start seriously draining the Swamp and it will send a clear message to the rest of the agencies that business as usual and tolerance for bureaucratic games is over.

FWIW, I’d like to see Pam Bondi be the next AG.

Re: Pam Bondi next AG

That's an interesting idea.

I was about to make a wise crack that we need someone else who is nice to look at since Hope Hicks is resigning.

I looked up Bondi on Wikipedia to check out her education and work history. Holy Shmoly! Did you know she's 52 years old? I never would have guessed that.

According to Wiki, Bondi is carrying a lot of political baggage, so a U.S. Senate confirmation will be very contentious.

I would expect to see that kind of negative slant from Wiki, a left leaning source IMO. That said, given the all the legal, ethical and corruption problems the Dems are facing, I would expect the confirmation process to be very contentious for anyone, but especially for her in view of her Tea Party activisim. They don’t want her in charge of any investigations. They are terrified of her.
