I am thinking this is more Rosenstein, et.al. (i.e. the swamp) pushing back. Not being one who’s buying the 3D/4D chess propaganda of the trump/session bots, I think Session’s is just the DOJ’s Howdy Doody.
On both fronts there are things going on behind the scenes, over which we can only speculate.
And when will these things be known? In your lifetime or in my great grandchildren’s lifetime. Please don’t defend this total disappointment.

You need to understand that Trump is not a political hack. He tried some a-political people, some political people who failed because they are who they are, and some generals who have been fine. His pool of candidates is very LIMITED! Had it been Romney of jagoff McLame, you’d see that same political candidate crap we have witnessed for decades. Choosing outside the standard model ain’t easy, but Trump is miles ahead of what would have been. He has clearly shown us how deep the swamp runs. God Bless Trump!!
You cannot just assume that no one who ever worked with the Left is lost forever. That is as bad as imagining that most Leftists are idealistic. I suspect that Trump is tweeting to hurry things a bit, but is still willing to be more patient than some in this thread.

I used to hear Limbaugh say that if he had a choice of having someone else’s intellect, he would choose Scalia’s.
When Scalia died, with all the attendant weird circumstances, I thought Limbaugh would come out with guns blazing. But no, he quietly said he understood Scalia’s families’ actions (of covering it up) and shut up about Scalia. Never mentioned him again.

I liked Sessions when he was first approved. I figured he would be calm, cool and collected, methodical and competent, but I didn’t dream he would go comatose.
Sessions hit the Peter Principle within a week. I am not certain that he is a crook, but every man has a price. At the very least, he is incompetent for the job at this time in history.
I would fire his butt today. However, I am not sure Trump can do that without extreme risk. I doubt that he could get another AG approved. Trump has been kicking a$$, but on this issue I am afraid that the dems have him painted into a corner.

That's a red herring of course, and it's a false dichotomy to say that there is 3d chess or there is incompetence. While I agree it is possible that Sessions is not in control, it does not nean Rosenstein runs anything (except being nominally above Mueller). Rosenstein is basically toothless and an idiot. He's everything that the Sessions bashers say Sessions is.
The only facts we have is that Mueller is indicting various ham sandwiches for minor unrelated crimes like failing to register as a foreign agent and creating fake facebook accounts. Even if we assume that Mueller has it in for Trump, he's not building up to a big case against Trump or his family.
The most likely outcome IMO is that there will be a few more meaningless indictments and pleas and then a Mueller fizzle. On the other side Strzok and all the other corrupt officials will skate or get a slap on the wrist. Grassley will try his best, Nunes will keep digging, but Congress as a whole is powerless.
Sessions isn't going to stop Mueller and isn't going to suddenly reopen the Clinton email case. But in the big picture, it won't matter. Trump is not going to let a couple of meaningless indictments affect his job performance and has said after the election he's not going to "lock her up".

Sessions has shut down most child trafficking in the US. He has imprisoned 2/3 of MS16. He is investigating Hillary, Uranium 1, and FISA with no leaks. After being overwhelmed by political corruption he is restoring the DOJ to its founding principles. What he has not done is take political positions to counter the corruption of Obama.
The entire government establishment in the US is horribly corrupt. It might take a few years to clean it up. Progressive Marxists have been successfully changing US government from top to bottom for many decades. They have done more damage than we are able to recognize. The fact that Sessions has not shut down Mueller is but one of countless flies in the ointment. Building a fly swatter large enough to take down the immense swarm with all its myriad maggots May not ever be completed.
I do not have a clue what Trump and Sessions are up against or what they are doing except for the details they allow to emerge. Frankly I have lots better things to do than sit around critiquing people who I have entrusted to save our silly butts. Things like fighting the local tyrants who run local government.
Sessions has accomplished nothing of merit do date. I watched yesterday’s interview with him and I actually felt sorry for the guy. He screamed Peter Principal.

Why don’t we just look at Sessions latest decision to let the IG do the investigation. That makes no sense unless you want something to happen in five years at best. FISI warrant who signed it what did it say? Two questions and we would know. But Jeff has decided this must go on for ever. Who struck John? I wish that Trump would have realized that you can’t hire Swamp Creatures to drain the Swamp. You have to hire people who have never been in a high level of Government and have not been playing the swamp game.
