IRS, FBI, DOJ, are successfully politicized and weaponized to go after innocent Americans if it helps their leftwing ideology. Look at 8 years of Obama. Look at the FBI dropping Ft Hood and Omar Mateen, because of political correctness.
Look at John Brennan, when he fired Robert Spencer from assisting the government in anti-jihadist courses for FBI and CIA. CAIR told Brennan to fire him and he did, to the detriment of the US.
Look at the Miami Dade police when they gave themselves an award for lowering minority youth crime, when in fact all they did was to tell the schools not to call the police and to punish criminal students inside of school. This is why Trayvon Martin’s jewelry burglary was never reported, and the hot jewelry was declared “found items” on a school discipline report. In a very Newspeak sort of way they wanted to call it something else other than crime so they can “help” black kids and improve their crime statistics.
Politics and police should never mix.

* Moreover, it is reported that the administrators at Marjory Stoneman Douglas recommended in January 2017 that the Broward County School Board conduct a “threat assessment” on the killer. It is undetermined at this time what, if anything was done.
Even more distressing is the report that the police were called to this individual’s home dozens of times over the last years. Yet, this information was never matched with the other warning signs from the school and the FBI to address the growing threat.
It is not enough to only question if the appropriate action had been taken last year, could the horror we now face have been prevented – we must demand better, and hold those accountable for these failures, so that it does not happen again.

Live in Broward County. If the police show up on a domestic call someone is going to jail. At best you’ll be kicked out of the house for the night. Don’t know about a call concerning a kid.

That is EXACTLY what the fellow I linked to above was doing when he accidentally discovered Broward was doing the same thing - intentionally modeled after M/D.
Apparently Broward went way beyond liberal policy/policing and into criminal level cover-ups as a routine. And collusion with the school system, including the super of that district. The link includes affidavits and such from whistle-blowing cops.
Many people here reflexively assume the cowards of Broward are just bad at their jobs and then go about blaming everyone from Obama to Sessions. But in reality it seems the on site officers are chosen not based on ability but based on their willingness to be crooked at the local level in order to produce stats that result in more state/fed funding.
Like I say, I’m not sure why few at FR are interested in that. Most stuff here in recent years seems more like superficial name-calling and tribal politics. At times FR seems like Facebook without the cat videos.

Did anything that I wrote even imply that I approved of the nefarious policies in those counties? Obama promoted such policies and provided federal tax money for having statistics that made it look like crime was decreasing. Arrests may have been decreasing, but criminal activity was not. That is an outrage in any case, even without this tragic outcome.
I am relieved that we share revulsion at those policies.

The Obama AG (acting I believe as requested by the Florida NAACP in Miami) determined that the amount of arrests was far out of proportion for young blacks. The result was a proposal to quit recording incidents and making no arrests. The stats get fixed. Money in the form of grants flows to the schools
But, ancillary to the lack of recorded arrests is the lack of recorded arrests. Therefore, a back ground check on an individual purchasing a gun would come up clean because there were no adverse records.
Although I didn’t hear Rush say it, the unassailable conclusion is that Cruz could have passed a background check because he had no record. Extrapolating, every kid in Broward county has no record to prevent gun purchase

And? His current age is a red herring. Hiding behind it is a cop-out.
The calls and trouble occurred over a period of years. Years. The boy was learning disabled, rumored autistic, aggressive, destructive acting-out, self-mutilating, the subject of persistent bullying turned bully, and had been in 6 different special needs schools in 3 years - which pushes the ‘trouble’ age back to at least 15; maybe even age 11 when the father died, or before.
As for CPS and DCF, there were years for them to act. Adopted children are not chattel property. If the adoptive placement was no longer working before or after the father died, it wasn’t working. The mother was complaining of persistent elder abuse so it most definitely wasn’t working for her, either. And there were other elements of a toxic environment evident such as trying to give the boys away, which, no doubt, the boys were aware of. Like cute little puppies who grew up to chew the couch and dig holes in the yard. And, why were the boys sleeping on strangers’ couches after the death of the mother? Where was their Social Services safety net that should have sprung into action before Mom’s body was cold?
Yes, the boy lost control of himself, yes, the cops blew it, yes, the school board really blew it, and it’s unfortunate we’re going to have to kill the kid to put him out of his misery - there’s no turning back from that fact. But Society trusted Social Services and they dropped the ball, too, and earned their place in the accused box right along with Sheriff Israel and the School Board.
Social Services, society’s alternative to institutionalized intensive psychiatric intervention, failed to protect, from himself and others, a mentally disabled child, an adopted mentally disabled child(s), and failed to protect a child whose status as disabled didn’t magically change at age 18. And by those failures, failed Society. Resulting in the deaths, this time, of 17 beautiful kids and the maiming of many others. They were failed, too. That’s a lot of failures that are hard to ignore.
We should be outraged. Not pointing at ages.

We don’t know for sure if he even did one.
The shooting was professionally planned and carried out.

It would be beautiful if that were all there is to it.
This is the Deep State gone insane to manufacture propaganda to sway the less than 80 IQ crowd to allow a big gun grab.
They have killed and injured thousands to this end, and will continue until either they succeed, or Trump can bring them down. They will not just voluntarily stop this madness.
