A few years ago director John Curran and actor Jason Clarke made a late night trip to the Dike Bridge on Chappaquiddick. The bridge has been rebuilt, but the dirt road, Poucha Pond, and rural landscape havent changed much in 49 years since Sen. Ted Kennedy drove his car off the bridge in a late night accident that killed a young woman, Mary Jo Kopechne.

If it were “well-known”, Ted would have gone to jail.
“Scott Adams one screen, two movies analogy come to life!”
had the same thought ... just now finishing up “Winning Bigly” ...
Dike Bridge
Hahahaha
There should be a statue of Mary Jo in DC, her sacrifice is the only thing that kept that worthless POS out of the White House.
Howie Carr thinks that Fatboy was so loaded he didn’t even know that Mary Jo was in the back seat sleeping.
Here’s a two week-old obit of the news guy the Kennedys’ chose to handle The Swimmer’s public statement after pleading guilty. The bottom half is about Kennedy’s post-Chappaquiddick return to publicity.
“I think he was likely drunk, scared, and fled the scene”
Speculations my aunt fanny. Drunk Teddy drove off the road and left Mary Jo to drown. He used the family name to get off scot free. End of story.
Apparently, it's in the Kennedy genes. Every time one of them rapes or kills or beats their wives, they act all innocent.
Ted Kennedy the father of amnesty 1965 he caused more than one death a true country killer democrat.
Couldn’t help but notice that this movie only gets made way after Kennedy is dead...
I remember reports at the time. To me anyway the vital account is this. That Ted Kennedy was able to get the ferry to Edgartown. The fatal bridge was before that place. Once across, he went to his hotel/motel. Some accounts state he was dry and unconcerned about anything.
A conversation with his associate, Joe Gargan was overheard next morning. Kennedy indicated he did not know anything about the tragedy.
The whole thing depends on what Kennedy's condition was at the motel. If he was dry, then the poor young woman was driving the car. (IMHO)
Why the neck brace, then?
Because the clever lad had it applied to bring credibility to his account. Anyone can get a neck brace put on for them.
I think he was so drunk that night, he FORGOT she was in the car.
You are referring to something that is outlined in fairly good detail here..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEOd7AOR6ic In my opinion, this answers all the obvious questions that the other theories don't. I'm pretty sure this version got it right....
Deception, my friend... deception.
I still need to read that.
Yep. That book says it all, by people who were there. Best book on this.
