Calling it an anathema, Dem Sen. Richard Blumenthal has said I will fight the arming of teachers in schools.
Appearing on this evenings Hardball, Blumenthal said:
He [President Trump] seems to be backing the idea of arming teachers and eliminating gun-free zones. That idea has been rejected soundly and consistently by the entire educational community; by teachers, superintendents, principals. Because it makes schools less safe.
And it is a non-starter, whether its proposed singly or part of any other measure in the United States Senate. I will fight it, because it is an anathema. A dangerous and frightening prospect. But we need to take this issue to the ballot box. Thats where its going to be decided.

Absolutely true.
This guy is a danger to the Republic.
Soooo....all the armed guards around him and wherever he goes, especially in DC should be REMOVED, NOW! What an idiot. Security for thee, but not for me!
Is Blumenthal one of those folks that would cause a synagogue to catch fire just by walking into it? (I’m sure Pelosi, for example, would set a Catholic church on fire by walking into it, for example.)
Richard “Let’s keep them target-rich environments” Bloooooooooomenthal.
OK...I’d like to steal that!!!
Screwmenthal.
I’m agreeable to making sure any interested teachers are properly trained (repeated range time, tactical courses, etc. as a continuing education.)
Not a federal issue, Dick.
His co-religionists in Israel have figured out that having armed personnel at schools works. Also, the educational establishment opposition he presents as universal really isn’t since there are schools where teachers are armed and signs to that effect are posted.
What a pathetic sac of sh*t phony soldier to lecture anyone let alone make decisions for anybody. This guy is an a-hole.
“rejected soundly and consistently by the entire educational community; by teachers, superintendents, principals. Because it makes schools less safe.”
What a bunch of diatribe. A certain sheriff has offered concealed carry
classes to teachers free of charge.
His offer was limited to 50 seats.
The almost instant reply from teachers
resulted in a much bigger room being needed as 50 turned into 250. And this
from one sheriff. Imagine this offer
all across the country.
Blumenthal doesn’t want to keep children safe in school. He just wants take away guns. For him the dead kids are just props he can use to advance his radical agenda.
That idea has been rejected soundly and consistently by the entire educational community; by teachers, superintendents, principals.
...because it is their position that there arent enough mentally stable members of those occupations to find as many as two in a whole school district.
Here’s an idea Blumenschmeckel! Since you are by far the ugliest white man in the Congress, how about you go stand guard at a school and frighten away any wood be shooters!
Of course the dims are against it, they are against anything that makes sense and doesn’t further their agenda.
I was a teacher in various places for over 30 years, and I could count on my fingers and toes all the teachers I knew that I would trust with a firearm. As far as the support staff, many of them I met shouldn’t be near any kind of weapon at all.
It would take a pretty rigorous screening/training process to convince me that more than one or two at each school would deserve to carry. That doesn’t count the retraining of the loony ones not to do something stupid to show their opposition.
I would like to ask him if he wants armed security to leave the Capitol, airports, banks- heck do away with LEOs. He thinks they are dangerous????????? He is definitely mental.
WHY CAN'T WE.
Yet scum-covered Senator Stolen Valor has armed security for himself I’m sure.
Gosh do I despise my state’s senior senate.
