Mr. Gates, you should pay no more than 10% of your earnings for taxes. Same for me. That’s all God asks for.
Nothing stopping him. If he wants to donate most of his assets to the federal government he can.

As if there is a law that forbids him from paying more in taxes.
I would bet the herd of accountants who prepare his taxes itemize and take advantage of every legal deduction rather than just declare his gross income as taxable income.
I’m sure Bill has legions of lawyers and accountants trying to get him the maximum deductions he’s entitled to legally. Higher taxes usually translate in the middle class being squeezed.
He’s a big boy—he can pay whatever above and beyond rate that he would like.
But he doesn’t.
Instead he is virtue signalling without cost, but claiming that he’d be happy to pay more in to the government as long as those lowly lesser billionaires and multimillionaires below him are forced to pay more too.
If he’s too much a hypocrite to step forward from the line let’s all just step back and leave him and his ilk out front as “volunteers”.

That’s what I’ve been saying for years. Let’s jack up the rates for multi billionaires. Keep jacking them up until they shut up.
Bill doesn’t pay income tax on 90 billion because it’s not income. He simply owns it and if it grows he still doesn’t show any income. He only shows income if he sells something, and he doesn’t do that. So of course he wants income tax raised. He’s not going to pay it.
Yeah, these sanctimonious derps are indeed capitalists, and they say these things to keep the heat off of themselves.
Warren Buffet pretty much has spewed the same bilge. That’ll get them invites to The View.
His intention was to make sure that Apple computers, which did not use a Microsoft operating system, were kept out of the schools. And additionally, when the schools needed to upgrade the OS and start using Windows, they had to pay Microsoft. That’s what made him a billionaire. That sounds like capitalism to me.
Give a couple billion to me and I will pay the taxes on it, since you won’t.
