[snip]The boys were left in the care of a family friend after their adoptive mom died Nov. 1, she said... [snip]"Lynda the mom was always apologetic. She had her hands full," Shelby said. "They were very much on their own. The kids seem to roam around and come and go as they pleased," Richie Speno said. Police were called out numerous times, and Shelby said Cruz was seen shooting at a neighbor's chickens. "I told my husband I was so glad they moved.

The perps of these shootings are disturbed boys on mind-altering meds, most taken for years, who feel lonely and unloved. The Columbine shootings that were covered wall-to-wall by the media set the pattern for these disturbed boys to get attention and to get revenge on those who did not befriend them.
So what do we see today? Wall-to-wall coverage of another shooting by just such a boy. We are sure to have more of these.
The media and the other Leftists want to limit the Second Amendment to combat the shootings. How about curbing the First Amendment, too, limiting the coverage given to these terrible events?

Funny how the media goes exactly by the book calling this eyewitnessed mass murderer a “suspect” but illegal aliens are described as “immigrants” as if there is no difference between someone who breaks in and someone who follows the legal process.

Yes, and a left wing journalism professor who was a newscaster told me that back in the streaking days mainstream news came to an unwritten agreement to not cover streaking. It soon died out. He was replying to me saying exactly what you are saying but I was saying this in the ‘90s.

Shelby Speno said she'd been warned that Nikolas had caused trouble, such as biting a child and stealing neighbors' mail. One time, he threw eggs at Richie's car while he was driving.

Ban teeth, ban eggs. Wouldn't matter, this kid spelled trouble. There are kids like this out there, some don't become news but sometimes one will be a mass killer. There's a kid like this in my neighborhood. Moody, always wearing a hoodie with head down, drug-addict single mom, police called out numerous times, social worker always coming out. You never know who is going to snap. I hate hearing of innocents being slain by crazies, feel bad for those parents whose kids are slain.

It seems a more colorful mode of suicide. Except here somehow the shooter didn’t turn the gun on himself before getting caught. Kudos on Florida at least for troopers who are more on the ball. It wasn’t as cowardly as Columbine.

So, law abiding folks, give up your guns and a shooting like this will NEVER happen again and our extremely competent government bureaucrats will successfully mount an effort to collect all 400 million guns in America and we will all live happy and safe ever after.

Sure!

It may take an intrepid preacher. The devil rides these kids like a horse.

Wait till the friends and family members see his future, if they think that he had a troubled past. Folks, you ain’t seen nothing, yet!

Remember when our churches would be there for this family?
How about the boy scouts to have men for these boys to look up to? When neighbors, family and friends would come together to help each other in need? We, as a society, have fallen so far from God, and most don’t see it.
Maybe if the young man had someone he could talk to this would not have happened.

I think he was expecting a long long standoff like Columbine and a leisurely suicide. No, this is Florida. Crazy but not that crazy.

The real solution, IMO, is to end all government involvement in education. That includes even state and local governments.

If all schools were privatized, parents can send their kids to the schools that best meet their kid's individual needs and nurture their talents. And you can bet that most of these schools will have armed staff on hand too.

Or, they can simply purchase an educator's kit and have their kid study at home on the computer. Or co-op with other parents and hire an educator who'll teach a group of kids in a home or leased building.

Just the idea of hundreds of kids simultaneously attending the same building with strict rules and government-enforced edicts is an anachronism and would make the Founders spin in their graves.

An evangelist to address him and others. There seems to be no exit to the dark tunnel these kids see.

Why limit coverage of a perp that likely had no real father figure in his life, and a grandmotherly mother apparently with no support system who was unable to control little boys that grew up with no impulse control? Why not beat the drum loudly that, even with a history of police calls to the home, the police force had no tool to use to get the mom and/or the boys help, like 10 years ago when he was sic’ing his dog on the neighbor’s minipigs or shooting chickens?

Public grade schools are a socialistic influence. In truth there is no normal student.

The Columbine shootings that were covered wall-to-wall by the media set the pattern for these disturbed boys to get attention and to get revenge on those who did not befriend them.

Watch and see if we don't get a couple more of these in the next few weeks. This isn't a second amendment issue, but a first. The killings are calculated to get worldwide publicity for the shooter, and our media is only too happy to oblige them.

And in the sense that faith has faded. 2nd amendment means nothing if we have nothing with which to shoot, and freedom of religion is moot if nobody believes anything.
