Lawmakers on Capitol Hill want to know how former presidential aide Rob Porter was allowed to work at the White House under an interim security clearance — despite allegations of spousal abuse.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, told CNN on Wednesday that the panel decided Tuesday night to launch an investigation.
Word of the probe comes a day after the FBI publicly contradicted the White House over Porter, who has been accused of domestic abuse by his two ex-wives. The FBI said it gave the Trump administration information on multiple occasions last year about Porter and that the investigation wrapped up in January.
That account by FBI Director Christopher Wray challenged the White House assertion that Porter's background “investigation was ongoing” and officials first learned the extent of accusations against him only last week, just before he abruptly resigned. ...

Or, is the new diversity insanity sufficient reason to excuse foreign nationals who handle classified materials without anyone even checking to see if they're in the country legally much less if they are cleared to handle stuff?
This is precisely why I have reservations about Trey Gowdy.

They’re not on our side, Gowdy included. This is not an earth-shaking national security issue that requires Congress to step in, it’s political, another hit on the WH. These Republicans want Kelly gone as much as Democrats because he’s keeping the WH on track.
And so many of these “Republicans” are in the globalist uniparty, don’t worry about the people.
Sounds to me like an FBI problem. Why did it take a year to find this out? Should of taken a day. Was anyone even interviewed about it?
How did Obama ever get a Security Clearance ? I’m guessing he never had one either

No big deal if he did, seeing as how Obama worked for 8 years as President and was never an American....
As First Lady, Hillary Did Not Have Security Clearance But Received Classified Information Anyway:
President Trump decided Porter could be trusted, therefore porter can be trusted with national security information.
If John Brennan can get a security clearance and Hillary can keep hers, then a security clearance is meaningless.
As is the obscene joke known as the United States Congress.
Obviously Trey Gowdy has been compromised. Maybe he’s Linda Graham’s BH Buddy.

That is a clearance, and people work on interim clearances all the time. It’s routine. What’s the problem here?
