I wish I understood why the African nations don’t evolve.
Suppose part of it is religion, part of it is corrupt government that pushes them down, part of it is weather (easier to live in a warm climate). But overall...why can’t they break out of the 3rd world? Is it pure laziness?

I read an article from a guy from (I think) Ghana who said the reason they are stuck is that aspects of their culture don’t allow them to succeed. His example was that nobody could own a store because your relatives would come and ask for free stuff and you’d have to give it to them. Thus all the businesses were owned by people from other countries and the profits were shipped overseas.
They put family members over anything else, even distant cousins have a claim on you so nobody has snything
