And pandemonium shall follow them...

DiL just came up to take a shower, since James is in the one downstairs. When he’s done it will be my son’s turn, then Sam’s turn, and of course, Roy and Carol have their own. I never did look at the size of the water heater, but I’m sure its hugh, as there are always people visiting.

We went to a spaghetti dinner last night at the bride’s house, and I have never seen so many grown ups in the same space without chaos ensuing.

One of Abbie’s brothers just got home from his mission, yesterday, and one is leaving today. there is one more child after that...and he will go next year.

The necklace that broke in Henderson, broke again this morning in two places, and in trying to repair it, a stone came out. Probably never to be seen again by human eyes.

James just left and I gave him some grandmotherly advice: Never go to bed angry with each other. Always kiss and make up. He gave me his dad’s grin, said thanks, and headed out the door.

Now, I want to go home. I[ve been away from my “things” for too long, even if most of them are packed.

DiL has interrupted me so much on this trip and she has no clue what that does to my CFIDS malfunctioning brain. I have no idea what I was going to say any of those times. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t realize how difficult it is for me to recall something when its been interrupted, but I don’t know if that knowledge would change her desire to be the center of attention.

End of today’s rant...

Hope things are going reasonably smoothly. Sorry about the necklace. Sounds like you met some nice people, at least.

I went to the laundromat and did all the boys’ wash from camp. Five wash loads, three dryer. It would have been at least seven at home and taken until midnight.

Vlad didn’t get his uniform in the basket, so he’s my favorite dish-washer for the rest of the weekend. And any other tasks that cross my mind.

In a nutshell: I was the mathom.

Last night, I was physically “moved” by someone, interrupted and talked over, and I just stood in a corner with my plate of spaghetti and concentrated on my food and the fact that this was for James and Abbie.

Today was pretty much a repeat, without the spaghetti, and I tried to be as unobtrusive as possible, for James and Abbie. Someone noticed that James’ gramma wasn’t in the pictures so I got rounded up for three or four shots, then we came to the Cultural Hall for the luncheon.

I sat out in the lobby for a bit, then asked DiL what table was for the family and was told, so there I sat. By myself. I decided I’d rather sit alone and play with my “new toy” (explanations in a minute) and wait for the Drama Queen to do her perfect entertaining. I mean, after all, I was the only poor relative, right?

And that’s where I sat. I had already reached my max on the pain pills by the time we went to the temple, so there was nothing I could do but bite my tongue and try not to move too much. And when I got up to go to the powder room (or some such place away from the table) I came back to find my plate, utensils and water had all been picked up.

So I went and sat in the chapel for a few minutes. When I came out, I was pressed into drying the plastic dishes and utensils while Ms Thang went to the lobby to lie down on a sofa. Bit my tongue and tried not to make too many noises when I moved, though that was harder than you may think.

I pray often for guidance about how to deal with her, but most of the time, I’m blind-sided. My son has become totally cowed by her. Yesterday, I was telling of my car accident in ‘69 and how it was just the year before that the law governing the installation of seatbelts in all passenger vehicles was enacted, and she misunderstood me, arguing that seat belts were not mandatorily worn until the ‘80’s because she remembered it. I started to correct her, but then I realized She. Has. To. Be. RIGHT.

I just can’t understand why everything has to be such a WAR with her. Anyway, my son and her son Sam are the ones to be pitied in this thing, not me. She’s hostile and needs to be the focus of attention, and she’s not about to be displaced by a peasant.

I managed to get the necklace to last, but it was only by using it in “choker” mode that it held together, I’m sure.

Laundromats are good when one has to do a lot of laundry in a short period, but my problem is the amount of money it takes to get the clothes washed. I would still prefer to wash clothes on the property because the cost is about half what it is at the laundromat.

LOL! I went through the drill of explaining to my kids and Igor that Mondays were the days I had chosen to wash clothes, and if the dirty clothes weren’t in the hamper before I started the laundry, they wouldn’t get washed. Lablady put it to the test, waiting until she heard the washer start up, then came running out with her load of clothes. Nup. Not gonna happen. (wailing) “What am I supposed to do for clean clothes?” You’ve known the rule for a good many years (she was 17) and now, you get a crash course in hand washing. OR, you can wear the same clothes you’ve got on.

Her name was “Diligence” when the next Monday came around: I sorted my clothes for you, Mom.”

While we were at the bride’s family home last night, my son showed me how to make an avatar on “bitmoji.com” so now I have one in a Vegas Golden Knights jersey and watch cap! It was fun to make, and kept me from seething about the treatment I was getting. One thing is for sure: DiL’s treatment of me in public didn’t go unnoticed.

Anyway, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

You survived. There’s a difference between when seatbelts were required to be installed in cars and when passengers were required to use them ... but you knew that.

The boys made Bitmoji thingies during a car trip somewhere with the Cub Scouts.

The county just called to tell me about voluntary water use restrictions. We weren’t watering the lawn, anyway, because it’s too expensive.

I knew that about the seatbelts because had there been some in the car I was in, the damages to all four of us would have been less and one man would have survived who didn’t. The car was too old by a couple of years for them to be factory installed.

It was more important for her to be “right” than for her to understand the difference between required in cars and required to be worn. I think my son is getting tired of her constantly trying to make me look stupid so she can be “the smart one.”

Seems as if the county, like my DiL, has a need to feel important. In a way, I pity her because her self-esteem depends upon her acceptance by other people.

I will spend the two-hour trip home tomorrow being silent in the back seat and she can make of it what she wants. I don’t have to live with her and it’s a very good thing!

Good morning. I was all snuggled up, almost asleep when Carol knocked on the door and said it was time to go to the reception. I had totally forgotten about the reception! So I stayed home and slept.

Anyway, I’ve had my breathing treatment and packed the nebulizer, and I’m off to the shower, then to finish packing and then all I have to do is wait for the rest of the peeps to begin waking up.

I hope I never have to do this again.

Good Morning. Is it possible to get more radio equipment to our lizards ? At the last contact recruitment was going so well that the lizard king has joined us against Iran. I’ll place the necessary forms today as an informal/formal request. Over and out ....

I came on a trip with my son his wife and her son, to be with HIS son for his wedding. I haven’t seen this grandson since he was 17, and now he’s a married man of 22. (Maybe 21!) I met his sweet bride, and gave them a hand crocheted luncheon tablecloth for a gift, and it should last them a lifetime, with proper care. And that should be easy because it’s cotton.

I don’t see a plane ride at any time in the future, but I am moving my place of residence from “there” to “here.” I’ve been trying to move out of NV for the last three years, and I’m staying within 20 miles of where I want to live. It will be good to be “home” again.

(Do you realize it’s been five years since my cataract surgery??)

Should that kitteh be named “Ferdinand?”

These people do a lot of shopping at Costco, and I’m thinking I may have to join, just to get the discounts on gas. The prices of gasoline here are about $.20 higher than in Henderson.

And their food is excellent quality, even though most things are sold in bulk. Still, I could figure out how buy what at certain times and freeze the food. The biggest saving would be on non perishables and paper products. I’m thinking when I move, it will be a long time before I use disposable serving paraphernalia! I really miss seeing my Blue Willow dishes.

The bag is ready to be zipped up, as soon as I put this thing away, and I’m thinking to myself that if the peeps plan to leave at 0600, they’d better shake a leg.

DiL just came up to shower in “The Girls’ Bathroom,” so I’m thinking the son is probably using the one downstairs. Sam, of course, will be the last to rouse himself. I feel so bad for him...

Anyway, I just have to find out what to do with the towels and bedding I used, but I’m sure someone will tell me.
