That kitteh looks like I feel: “What am I doing here? There’s a redskin waitin’ out there, ready to take my hair. A coward I’ve been called. ‘Cause I don’t wanna wind up dead or bald!”

yeah...I know...I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. When I heard what the schedule was for all the peeps today, I asked me why I even bothered to agree to come along. I’ll be alone with Carol most of the time.

Instead of being downstairs with all the rest of the peeps, I’m up here in a small “suite” with furniture so packed in here I’m afraid to move very fast for fear of losing my balance. There are just too many breakables for someone with my balance problems.

The trip up here was harrowing for the first 40 miles, but let me back up a bit:

Charlie sat out with me for about 45 minutes, until he got red in the face, and I sent him in. The kids landed but they rented a car from a new car rental called Fox, and there was a mix-up because they reserved it online. Same problem I had. So I told her to call them next time to avoid the problem. That put them over an hour past the time we all thought they would get to my place.

In the meantime, Charlie had gone to a meeting about the renovations and diligently took notes for me. Now they’re not going to start moving folks out until August. Fine by me. I don’t think I’ll get to look at that room for rent anyway...

For some reason, after we got out of Apex (once the “apex” of road and railroad) there was some druggie in a Mercedes who decided to play chicken road dare, and my son was getting upset. I told him it was how road rage incidents in Vegas began, and that he just needs to slow down (he was doing 90, on cruise control.) Next thing I know, he looks out the window and says, “What is your PROBLEM?” I said, “Son. Do NOT make eye contact with him.”

Sam is next to me in the back seat with his eyes closed, and I remembered when Igor was in Saudi Arabia, in a taxi on the way from Al Taif to Riyadh. The driver was doing 110 mph and Igor said he just laid down in the back seat and went to sleep.

Of course, all the time, DiL is telling my son to slow down, he was scaring her, etc. He was getting more upset, and I was trying to calm him down because he was, after all, behind the wheel. GAH!

Within the next few minutes, a big Ram Truck came alongside us and the Mercedes decided it was best if he quit playing chicken with us, and got out of the way. Until the tail lights disappeared, it looked as though the big truck was giving him a dose of his own medicine.

Needless to say, I asked my son to Stop in Mesquite, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Forty miles farther, and we were here. 2300 hours...and here I am in the glorified closet.

Not even a table to sit at while I play on this thing.

At least you survived. Males can be very trying sometimes. I hope it will be more pleasant than you expect. You want your grandson to have good memories!

I would be the last person to knowingly antagonize anyone. Period. My son is a problem for his wife, when he doesn’t automatically do what she wants. He’s human. So is she. But she’s just better at it.

No one is awake again, so here I am, listening to the lawn service out on the golf course. Which is where my host spends most of his time. That or fishing. The hostess just sits around and gets waited on.

They both acted pleased to see me, but then as good hosts, they would. Every time I’ve been here, there has been a houseful of people. I’m hungry, but didn’t bring any food. I had my hands full as it was, so there was no room for food.

Welp. I’ll make the best of every day I’m here ‘cuz that’s what I do. ;o] Maybe I’ll even get to see my niece and nephew!

At least it’s a change from home, and I hope they’ll offer you some food!

Everyone’s human, but engaging in hostilities on the highway is something that should be outgrown by 21.

I’m helping Kathleen with a stitchery kit that I got her at The Salvation Army yesterday. I’ll send you a picture of it when it’s finished. She has a riding lesson at 10:00; we’ll have to leave in about 45 minutes.

It turned out very nicely when I got the spots out of it. I was pleased with the way it ironed up. I hope they like it. :o])

I am where I am and doing what I do. I’d tell you more but then you’d be on *their* radar.

This morning the water stopped running in the shower just as I was getting ready to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. Fortunately the water was running in the kitchen so I could rinse my hair. The water was running again within 10 minutes.

When I got downstairs to walk the dog I saw serious ponding in the hall below my apartment so I decided not to complain. Instead I told the doorman to congratulate everyone on getting things working again so quickly.

Interesting story. I hope your apartment hasn’t dropped into the one below it by the time you get home.

The soon-to-be-newlyweds are out doing those thing peculiar to those making wedding plans; my son and his wife have also gone to do things for the soon-to-be-newlyweds, Sam is downstairs doing whatever a teenaged boy in the way of primping for his adoring fans, and Carol and Roy are “somewhere” in the house.

Last night, I cracked my toe on the metal leg of the hide-a-bed and didn’t realize it broke the skin. My toe bled on a beautiful pink and blue handmade quilt, and onto the top sheet. I didn’t realize any of it until I got up in the middle of the night and saw blood on the bathroom floor. My humiliation is complete.

The kids wanted to open their gift and were awed and amazed that it was handmade. I suspect James was suitably impressed with his G-Ma, and Abbie was almost speechless. I’m glad they like it, and I’m sure they will enjoy it all the more because they know it is washable.

So. I can now go back home. I’ve done all the damage I care to think about. I had a slice of French toast this morning, but didn’t want another one, even though Carol was ready to insist. She told me then that my son had told her to just let me sleep on the floor, but she didn’t believe him. She does now. And especially after Roy told her what I had done to the quilt and top sheet. She probably won’t ever want to see me again.

I sent a message to the gal with the room telling her my son said it would have to be today to see the room, but I don’t know if it will happen. I suspect they won’t have time. So I’ll just not plan on seeing it.

Sorry about the bedding. They can use cold salt water to get the blood out. You’d think they would be sorry that they injured a guest, rather than the other way around.

I hope you get to see the room.

I immediately blotted as much as I could with an extra sock I had, so the worst of the stain was out by the time I showed it to Roy. Carol hasn’t spoken to me.

This is not a good time of my life because I’m not at all sure of anything.

The room is out. She can’t do it today, and I can’t do it tomorrow.

I’m glad to know our client is just as annoying to software vendors as they are to us.

I would be happier if they weren’t also DOE.

squeeful tiny kitteh!

I’ve about had my fill of social life for the year, thank you! We went to a Mexican restaurant last night and the food was excellent. The service was a little off, but not so much that it ruined the meal, so it was good.

The soon to be newlyweds are pretty cute, and the boy who had ADHD like his dad, only worse, has turned into a wise young RM. (Returned Missionary.)

Now, I’m going to take a pill, then a shower, then go forage for something edible, and hope time doesn’t get away from me too soon. I’ll be left here alone today, for several hours, so that will be - um - different.

Hope you have a successful day, one way or another. I’ve just taken Anoreth’s dog for a walk - she and Bill have gone to the coast for the weekend - and next I’m going to Walmart. We’re taking a boy from Cub Scouts and his teenaged sister to the water park this morning, and then they’ll have lunch and hang around for a while before I take them home.
