This is why I set mad when the do-gooders are always whining about kids going hungry and we need to feed people because they are going without this meal or that meal. Bullcrap With WIC, LINK SNAP and all sorts of (food stamp) programs available, if kids are going hungry either their parents are selling their food stamps for drugs or they are too lazy to go the the grocery store!!

I still see Freepers who deliberately confuse food assistance with welfare cash programs.
They are both funded on EBT cards but you cannot withdraw cash when getting food assistance.
Are there abuses by people who get cash assistance? Sure but that’s human nature.
Poor people aren’t saints they are as human as the rest of us.
Maybe we just stumbled across the solution. Food stamp recipients should only be able to buy items that were on Michelle's approved menu for school lunches. The basic foods, not prepared food.
A few years ago I was in Walmart around midnight the day the EBT cards refill.
There were a number of EBT families waiting in line their purchases for the EBT card re fund with
The family at the front of the line had 3 check out registers completely filled with food, clothing, shoes, toys and other items.
At midnight, the Father pulled a bunch of EBT cards ( our states cards are uniquely shaped and colored for easy ID) out of his top shirt pocket and sorted through about a dozen cards.
He selected three of the cards and kept one for himself, gave another to his wife and another to his oldest daughter who looked to a bit over 18.
This is strictly illegal because the whole concept of the EBT card is that each family only have one and one EBT card to integrate and streamline their many forms of government welfare payments.
This family had around a dozen EBT cards in their possession, probably under multiple false identities.
I was right behind them in line and followed them out as they pushed out 6 or 7 carts of EBT funded purchases. They were parked in the parking space across from mine so I watched them load their goods into a new, fully optioned out top of the line $50k 4X4 Ford SUV .
The SUV had Sonora, Mexico license plates.
Consider the maid working "off the books" for a wealthy couple. She goes and does the shopping for her boss, pays for the steaks and such with her EBT, and pockets the cash.
I would not be surprised if a rigorous audit found massive fraud, with people being enrolled under multiple spellings of their weird names at various addresses.
On Friday I was behind a woman at a gas station. She was wearing Nikes and an NFL Manning jersey. She bought $23.89 of pure junk food and paid with EBT.
I’ll tell you who it angers.

The biggest friggin’ Corporate Welfare policy in American history. They are going to be screaming far louder than the recipients. And they do it with lobbyists.

People get a certain amount of money each as a benefit.
The notion only poor people cheat is insulting and untrue.

I worked with two Hispanic brothers, food and family was their life.
One day I noticed the farm next to the office had been picked but many tomatoes remained?
Next thing, they ask if I would give them a hand after work?
They gave the owner a couple of dollars and he said take what you want!
You cannot imagine the volume of tomatoes the glommed !!!

Both cars beyond full. Just enough room for the driver.
What will do you do with them? We have family coming up from Texas, this is great!
I still laugh just recalling that day.
NB: They each grossed about 100K per year at that time, no food stamps.

My great aunt used to get government cheese and would give us some. I gotta say, I don’t know how they made it, but I recall it fondly.
