Op-Ed: On Trayvon Martin's birthday, we remember his life and why we fight for black lives
NBC "News" ^ | February 5, 2018 | by Patrisse Cullors

Posted on 02/06/2018 6:12:12 AM PST by Oldeconomybuyer

Trayvon sparked a movement that stands up to fascism and white supremacy. We need to hold him in our memories.

February 5th marks five years and 339 days since Trayvon Martin’s memorial service; it would also be his 23rd birthday.

The day is necessarily somber. Nearly six years ago, Trayvon’s death at the hands of white supremacist vigilante violence indicated the beginning of an escalating attack on Black lives and demanded that this nation confront its overtly racist past and present. The urgency of #Justice4TrayvonMartin turned into a global urgency to fight for Black lives — one which persists today.

What we acknowledged as a nation during the one-and-a-half year trial of George Zimmerman is that the white majority’s public imagination of Black people was based on their fear of us, not the reality of who we are. Trayvon Martin was a teenage boy literally walking in his own neighborhood doing what most teenagers do: Wearing a hoodie, buying snacks and talking on his cell phone. His family and Trayvon would not know that his life would end that night because a white vigilante would be empowered by his own racist beliefs and murder a 17-year-old boy in cold blood.

We organize marches, disrupt major highways, set up tent cities at police headquarters and charge the stages of elected officials in honor of Trayvon and others we have lost unnecessarily and too soon. We build electoral justice tables and develop movements that can develop new political leaders. We are working to do everything in our power to save America and defend our humanity.

This is what Trayvon represents, and so much more. We pray and we organize, so that his life and the lives of other Black people have not been taken in vain.

Zimmerman did the world, especially his community a big favor. Travon Martin was thug of the highest order. A bully high on drugs when his life ended, deservedly.

It was either Zimmerman or Martin, fortunately Zimmerman had the good sense to carry a little 9mm Keltec. One shot to the heart ended Martins life but ruined Zimmermans.

Rest in Hell Travon Martin

African culture: a budding career criminal gets terminated and becomes a hero worthy of street naming or perhaps a monument.

Zimmerman killed Martin in legitimate self-defense. Martin, being a wannabe murderer, had he managed to murder Zimmerman, would have gone on to do more. Inevitably, he’d have met someone meaner or better than himself and would have been killed. Chances are very good that Martin would be dead today.

Trayvon became a promotional for the old media. More than a 100 police officers were killed that same year and I bet none of us freepers can name a single one of them.

On that predator’s birthday each year, I remember how much George Zimmerman did for America, despite Zimmerman’s many flaws. Thugs who attack the innocent should end up dead, and Trayvon got there while young, before he could hurt too many more innocent victims.

Zimmerman did not look “white”, as Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz do. Despite the German last name, he was clearly a mestizo in appearance, Shame on Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for taking this man to trial, and ditto for Governor Rick Scott for letting it happen. I am glad Trump did not select either one for a position in Washington.

victim card + oppression card + race card + pity card + blame game = libtardism excuse for gaining the unearned, the undeserved, and something for nothing””

In short, race pimping has become an African profession, held in high regard. How so many other race-traitors—mostly white libs—buy into this con is beyond stupidity.

I can name all 3 killed in the line of duty in the Denver/Colorado Springs area IN THE LAST 5 WEEKS thanks in part to the movement spawned by this farce and the “president” at the time.....

OK, according to NBC, the following are facts:

—Trayvon was deliberately murdered.
—All Trayvon was doing was walking.
—Trayvon has been incarcerated, given a low wage job, given no job and has been over-policed.
—George Zimmermann singled him out ONLY because he was a black teenager.
—George Zimmermann is white.
—George Zimmermann was a vigilante.
—George Zimmermann committed a senseless attack.
—All white Americans fear blacks.
—Donald Trump—the current President of the United States—is a white supremacist.
—Donald Trump is eroding the US Constitution.
—After Charlottesville, Donald Trump defended racism.
—Civil rights is not enough. Something else stronger (not specified) must replace them.

This lies at the feet of NBC. By letting Cullors spew this, they have endorsed her spiel.

Do NOT—never, ever—watch NBC; boycott their sponsors!!!
