President Trump said Monday that Democratic lawmakers who did not applaud his State of the Union speech last week were "un-American" and "treasonous."

Trump, speaking in Ohio, recalled the silence from Democrats in Congress when he praised low unemployment among African-Americans and Hispanics.

"They would rather see Trump do badly, OK, than our country do well. That's what it means, it's very selfish," he said. "It got to a point where I really didn't even want to look too much during the speech over to that side, because honestly it was bad energy. No, it was bad energy.

Trump does not have to bring this up as it was very obvious that the left is anti-American. Let them shoot themselves in the foot while we stay positive.

What’s poised to happen is that Trump will subsume segments of classic liberal concern into his agenda and just steal them from the Democrats while they pout.

Trump is centrist in many things.

I agree, President Trump. But you need to use a surrogate attack dog for such assertions. That would be more palatable with the public, and you would not sully your stature.

The American Left is also utterly repugnant.

Trump isn’t one whit worried about his stature. He got an audacious, optimistic vision and he’s stickin’ to it.

This is galling Democrats no end. Donald gets to talk to them like pouting children.

You don’t get what Trump is doing. By making an outrageous over the top comment the media will react with anger. The debate will focus on what the democrats did. They will deny the traitorous accusations vehemently. Trump will be laughing because they will accept the bad manners argument in exchange for dropping the charge of treason. Just funny!

I definitely see the Democrats and the Democrat Party as treasonous . For years now they have been manipulating a downfall of America , via open borders and U.S. cultural genocide . The Democrat Party needs to be banned . 100%

Let Donald be Donald. This will generate a rabid response from the Rats that will make them look even more foolish.

"Treasonous" is a word that carries a great deal of rhetorical weight. I don't think Trump would use that word unless he had evidence to back it up.

My conclusion: Something very big is about to break.

And that’s why God has put the blessing on Donald, even if his foes don’t understand. The Democrats have reduced their spokesmanship for matters of classic liberal concern to a sour poutfest.

Under such evolutionary pressures, we might see a new breed of ‘Rat.

Donald himself had been a ‘Rat. Much more quickly than Ronald Reagan, he concluded that this just won’t do.

Stay positive, stay patriotic and stay with the plans to make America great again. The Donald will be at plus 55% approval by July providing the markets remain strong. There is no question that we are going to have the benefit of a vibrant economy. In the past high energy prices have tempered the recovery.......not this time.

I rarely doubt the Donald’s short and long term strategy and he is on a roll. Just not sure that he has to “pile on”. You could have a point about news that would rock the world so to speak. By now, a rat or two may have started to sing that will point to the final nail in the Clinton coffin and some devastating illegal activity by Dumbo and the Muslim regime.

Yes. Now the left will focus on his statement that it is “treasonous” to not support him and a new round of IMPEACH yammering will follow.
