Fifty or sixty years ago, I wound up with a couple of smoke grenades after maneuvers. They were for the M1 rifle launcher attachment. Was the one found an M-79?
In the 60s a 12 year old could buy an anti tank gun with ammo and have USPS deliver it if yo had the cash.
Actually, U. S. federal law describes cartridges for up t0 19.1mm (0.752 in) as small arms ammo. Ought to cover 12 gauge. Obviously, 20mm cannon a no-no.
Funny how this gun offer was from Ca
Bricklee Trading Company was a great importer in Ca.
A shame fire wiped out the records
Damn!
I guess I cant say that thats never happened, Ive never found anything really worth buying at ours. Dollar Tree mugs ($1) for only $2.50, broken wooden home decor from the 70s and 80s, factory second knit caps $8, soft metal tools that are torn up before the first nut or screw is fully removed. For whatever reason they dont seem to have anything in the way of mens shoes. There are racks of womens shoes so there might be a deal there but I wouldnt know.
Yes, Ive done work assisting people with various disabilities and have seen that the “job training” and “employment opportunities” thing is a scam over there.
There are too many better opportunities elsewhere rather than to have to subject a client to that.
One of ours spun off a community organizing coffee shop. One of my clients was pretty much tricked into volunteering to do most of the actual work while several paid employees surfed phones and played grabass in the kitchen. It was mostly a place for pervs to gather and interact with people with disabilities. It was not surprisingly an Obama campaign satellite where they mislead the disabled to do work for him. Fortunately they lost $1,000,000 in a few years and had to shut down.
I dont pay much attention to clothing so cant help there. Locally...
Salvation Army has the higher end furniture, recycled home improvement goods, crystal, stuff like that but they do ask a price that reflects that quality also.
St Vincent gets and pulls the best antiques and odd collectables to a special area. The prices are fair to a bit high but I imagine its hard to price some of the weird things that show up back there. Good deals can be found in the rest of the store but one must be careful as the prices seem rather random, two identical objects with one at $0.25 and the other $5.00.
Bethesda tends to just put almost everything except the really unusual stuff (ancient silverware with ivory handles) out amongst the rest of the items like Easter eggs for people who put the effort into actually shopping. You never know what kind of nice thing you might find hidden somewhere so it drives real shopping traffic and somewhat discourages the professional shoppers who tend to skim the other stores.
Cutting a 12 ga birdshot shell makes you a hell of a shot

Yes, in theory but $190 was a lot of money for many adults in the ‘60s. I dont think many kids bought any.
I remember working really hard for what seemed a long time to get the money to buy myself a broomhandle mauser and help my little brother get a luger. They were guaranteed to be “real .22 cal” pistols. We knew we should have such things in case of burglars or Russian paratroopers and, who knows, a grizzly bear or werewolf might wander in to town and need shooting. They eventually arrived and they were “real.22 caliber” plastic guns that fired plastic pellets about the size of a 22short cartridge. Dumb kids...
Damn shame LOL
I got that Broomhandle mauser, though it is Chinese.
Wish I had a Luger
Poor ol gal thinks she is doing the Lords work, I keep telling her they are ripping her off.
Of course that might be because I shop SA rather then Goodwill.
70 cal frangible load.
Thanks for the tip partner.
Very practical
How to make even a grizzly bear pause and think, “Is this what I want to do with mylife?”
