(1) This shows me that the Nunes FISA memo is strategic distraction.

Trump expected to release Nunes memo without redactions, White House says Trump will declassify the controversial four-page memo that reportedly details surveillance abuses by the Department of Justice and FBI, and... http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/trump-expected-to-release-nunes-memo-without-redactions-white-house-says/article/2647799?utm_campaign=Washington%20Examiner:%20News%20Alert&utm_source=Washington%20Examiner:%20News%20Alert%20-%2002/01/18&utm_medium=email (2) Here's what was said earlier.

(3) And THIS was said.

(4) These reports all contradict each other.

THAT means that Nunes's memo is NOT the real story. (5) The memo was written by Republicans.

AND it's a summary.

So it has no real weight. (6) Why all the hype?

To distract. (7) What are they distracting from? (8) This.

Yea, anyone seen walking in step side by side with Obama at the WH is suspect.

I have no idea what may be transpiring behind closed doors here. I would be open to any possibility — even the possibility of things that seem outlandish today.

Is it possible Trump, et al, have stuff on Mueller that is forcing Mueller to be an artificial white hat

Not who you asked, but not a chance. You don't trust a dirty cop to investigate anything, ever again, else they commit more crimes or cover up evidence of their previous crimes. You arrest them, then offer reduced sentences if they cough up info on their crimes and other criminals.

Does Wicker explain why Mueller hired all of Hillary’s minions to be on his staff?

So the legislative branch can pass a law to dictate or constrain the executive branch’s authority under the Constitution?

Huh?

Not only can the legislative branch pass a law to constrain the executive branch; it can make entire executive branch departments disappear in minutes.

The U.S. Department of Justice is nowhere to be found in the Constitution. It didn't even exist until 1870.

And guess what ... it was legislated into existence by an act of Congress.

Sessions idea of action is to send the Nunes memo to the IG for more investigation.

When as you know all the IG is even capable of, is to perform a "Review" not an actual investigation.

Grassley is 84 years old. He makes Jeff Sessions look like a professional athlete by comparison.

And yet Grassley has done more than the recused Sessions has.

“Legally, he courld order his AG to appoint one, as under current law it must be the AG or Deputy if AG is recused. “

Think about that for a second. Then think about the separation of powers.

Grassley runs three miles a day and has several times dropped and done many push-ups to show up smart-alecky TV reporters.

I don't know if he explained this, but there are two reasons why this might happen:

1. So Hillary can't hire them herself.

2. So they have to recuse themselves completely due to an obvious conflict of interest if Hillary becomes a target of the investigation.

I like Grassley, but I wouldn’t hire a U.S. Senator to clean my toilets.

Half of FReepers were saying the memo would never be released unredacted, so that tells us a lot about who to ignore.

Wictor makes a good point, we all know that Congressional oversight is kind of a paper tiger, and no one can factually disprove the claim that Mueller is and always has been working for Trump.

Wait and see.

You make it sound like all you want to do is malign his character in the absence of anything substantive.

If I wanted to believe Wictor was wrong, I would now tend to doubt it simply based on your poor analysis.

They can’t usurp the power given to the executive under the Constitution...YOU IGNORANT FARK.

It only shore’s up my point that Trump can and should appoint his own special counsel.

Take a hike, goron. You make my head hurt.

The President has authority over the DOJ, but primarily through the actions of the AG, who is on his cabinet. If the AG doesn’t follow the direction given, the President can fire and select a new AG appointee for Senate confirmation. Generally these checks and balances are sound, Trump has just been deceived by his AG it would appear.
