Of course. This is why ending chain migration is part of the Raise Act and other conservative solutions.
I doubt the courts would uphold a different class of residency and I am sure the Dems would use it as a political issue that the DACA recipients are being treated unfairly. Legalization won't end the political exploitation of DACA recipients. And if the Dems regain control of Congress, they will pass legislation giving a path to citizenship for DACA recipients. Next will come the rest of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in the country.
Different classes of residency doesnt seem to be much of an issue when it comes to US citizens. Convicts rights are limited, so -a few activist lower courts aside- I dont see there being an issue with a tiered process or temporary limitation to welfare programs or other govt. goodies. I also doubt the Dems will pass any meaningful immigration reform with DACA, Dreamer or any other group that they label. They want the issue. That has been made completely clear.
We can't avoid the fact that we are talking about an amnesty. Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here is amnesty. A path to citizenship is just the cherry on top.
I agree. Legal status IS amnesty. However, US citizenship isnt a cherry or even a Jalapeño on top for them.
The fanciful plan I put forth would be a complete replacement for DACA. Therefore, many of your questions and assertions are either irrelevant or incorrect. I also made it clear that it would be severely limited in both scope and time, and that other permanent changes would be needed to our immigration laws, policies and procedures.
In any event, now you have accused me of “virtue signaling”. You have sunk to the level of issuing personal insults, so I am under no further obligation to converse with you on this matter.
There is a whole industry set up for illegal birthing, Chinese are more able to pay than Haitians.
SC, like AZ, has open primaries allowing Dems to help put the R most like them on the ballot. That’s why we get stuck with Senators Graham and McCain imo. They vote in accordance with their purple base, which isn’t conservative.
