Rep. Schiff doesn’t understand the memo, that is highly likely. Or perhaps he does, all too well, and recognizes that the Democrat party as a whole is greatly threatened by the revelations.

Rep. Schiff himself is implicated in this scandal. He at least provably leaked classified information from his committee to the press. He is trying to keep a lid on this to save himself.
