California Democrats Want Businesses To Give Half Their Federal Tax-Cut Savings To State
National Economics Editorial ^ | Jan 20, 2018 | Editorial Staff

Despite what Hollywood celebrities and Democrat bigwigs claim, California’s in bad economic shape.

Not only does California have the highest poverty rate in America—over 1 in 5 Californians live below the poverty line—but it’s home to nearly one quarter of America’s homeless people. There are so many poor people in California that it’s income inequality ratio is now larger than Mexico’s.

How could so much poverty exist in a place with nearly unlimited natural wealth, and a rich cultural and business inheritance? California is the home of Hollywood, Apple, and Google after all.

Two reasons: first, immigration—especially illegal immigration—has sucked state coffers dry, and this has translated into higher taxes for American citizens. Consider that illegal immigrants cost California’s economy over $30 billion every year. This has real impacts on citizens: it’s why, for instance, that California’s schools are some of the most crowded, and worst in America.

Second, California’s government is incompetent—the state legislature is full of rigid ideologues, and “Governor Moonbeam” is unable to grasp the magnitude of the problems facing his state. It’s to this second reason we’d like to direct your attention.

If at this point it's not clear that California's government doesn't hate the people, there's no hope for them.

This is great! California people love to pay taxes, that’s why they’ve stuffed their entire government full of Democrat big-spending liberal thieves!

Now the big-time liberal geniuses that run Silicon Valley can have even more fun, giving half of what PDJT saved them to their very own Democrat government! It’s a perfect setup!

Then their legislatures can use the money to buy more votes and import more illegal Democrat voters! It’s a perpetual motion machine!

And, is the plan for this surtax to be on worldwide earnings, or just the money earned in California?

1 in 5 Californians live below the poverty level. With the legalization of marijuana and it’s nice climate, the government of California are laying the groundwork for an influx of homeless and indolent pot lovers.

Good luck with those “reinforcements”.

It’s not uncertain that I wouldn’t refrain from avoiding not choosing to write like that.

Interesting that Oklahoma has every single county as reliably red even though the poverty rate is slightly higher.

Interestingly still, is their taxes are one half or better, than California and there’s weekend, hunting, fishing, skiing, lakes and rivers galore.

Super nice people too.

Give Governor Moonbeam the three fingered salute and tell him to “read between the lines”.

They are also trying to legislate a super-tax on all companies doing over a million dollars in business a year.

I guess they figure companies that big do business across state lines, so by forcing them to raise prices that will offset the super-tax, customers out of state will be inadvertently subsidizing Sacramento.

A certain amount of out-of=state customers will put up with the price hike, but I would think most customers just switch suppliers for the lowest price. This hurts everyone but the politicians, which could make anyone masochistic enough to continue living in California a little cynical.

Illegal immigration drives down wages - African-Americans need to be constantly reminded of this fact.

I live in CA, and I am in the select small group of proper “hurt” by the tax cuts. Keep in mind, I am strongly in favor of them. The only people “hurt” are those with high incomes and valuable property. According to the LA Times - the top 18% of the state.

The only thing that keeps CA afloat is business - especially show biz and high tech - all a bunch of libs. Imagine how mad they’ll be at this new law. It’s actually a good thing - after announcing $30B+ in new investment, Apple now will give several billion back to the state.

At what point will the idiot libs who keep this place out of BK get so mad they’ll leave?

As Hamlet said, that is the question.

They won’t stop at businesses.
They will repo 1/2 of individual refunds too.

My advice for those living in CA.
Start looking for an exit plan.

One should note that in CA, a million dollars is nothing. Any decent business makes more.
