Australia. If the plethora of venomous reptiles, insects and sea life doesn’t kill you the birds will set you on fire.
I had a hummingbird that used to come tap on the window wherever I was at in the house in order to get me to fill the feeder. As soon as he could see I got up he’d make for the back door to wait for me to come out and then hover right in front of me all the way to the tree where the feeder was always hung.
He’d only do it if the feeder was bone dry.
Now that’s a pretty savvy bird.
I have a bunch of hummingbirds that think my back yard belongs to them.
Proof that dragons were big birds and not big flying lizards.
It’s the ones seen carrying smoldering twigs that indicate there’s more to it than just following a fire.
Not that much different than crows picking up sticks and flying to rotten logs to pry grubs from holes.... or dropping stones into vases to raise the water level in order to snatch something floating in a bottle... or honeyguides leading people to beehives hidden in trees...all activities are straightforward means of getting a food reward.
Now if only I could get the conures to quite unscrewing the screws on the faucet and losing the handle.
That’s because it does! They are really aggressive birds for their size.
The Chihuahuas of the bird world. Attitude makes up for lack of size.
I’m still skeptical:
Steve Debus, from the University of New England, an expert in predatory birds said he believed it would be difficult for researchers to distinguish between birds incidentally grasping burning twigs with prey and those deliberately picking them up.

I suppose that firefighters will now be armed with shotguns to shoot birds who steal fires?
LOL!
They survive a lot longer on their own in the wilderness than your average urbanite libtard does.
