Still Looking for Tax Disaster, Democrats Are in for a Surprise
American Thinker ^ | 01/16/2018 | Jack Hellner

The Democrats and their media allies did everything they could to defeat Trump's tax cuts and reforms. They continually lied to the public in a bid to make them believe that less than half of the taxpayers would actually get cuts and that the bill was meant to benefit only big, rich corporations. Therefore, we got all sorts of articles, obviously fed to journalists by left-wing think-tanks and Democratic politicos, claiming that the tax cuts aren't good or aren't performing as promised.

So, two weeks into a ten-year program, we are now hearing whining that all the promises of the broad-based reform haven't been fulfilled yet. (Eight years into Obamacare with nothing close to what was promised hasn't caught their attention – they're still telling us how good it is.)

It's a stupid thing for Democrats to keep holding onto this mythology, because they are about to be swamped by events.

But holding onto the narrative they are. Here's one example of a New York Times article whose purpose is to deride bonuses and tax cuts, claiming that the prime beneficiary is solely the greedy rich, particularly the corporations. It's a narrative that's pretty close to what House minority leader Nancy Pelosi has been saying, in her claims that corporations are only handing out crumbs and pretty much keeping all the tax gains for themselves. The article tries to portray corporations as evil and greedy and keeping too much for themselves, while the bonuses are just dog biscuits to the public. Naturally, the government is never greedy when Democrats want to take so much money and power for themselves – just corporations.

Somehow, Democrats don't seem to care that over half Americans in surveys don't have so much as a small savings nest egg to pay for emergencies,

Varney on Dow Hitting 26,000: ‘Inexplicable’ That Mainstream Media Ignores Rally!

The Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed the 26,000 point milestone at the opening bell on Tuesday.

The Dow made the latest 1,000 point milestone move in a record-setting seven sessions, breaking the previous record of moving 1,000 points in 23 sessions. That record was set when the Dow moved from 24,000 to 25,000.

“Investors smell profit, more and more from American corporations. And that’s the bedrock for stock prices,” Stuart Varney said on “Fox & Friends.”

Wait until February. A lot of people (such as myself) get paid only once a month ... so they have not gotten a paycheck with the lower withholding applied yet. Once everyone starts to see higher takehome, there is no level of lying that will work.

Amen! A lot of our younger relatives get paid 2X a month and have gotten a nice addition last week or today.

One of our adult off spring got his first check under the new tax law, today at his office.

He texted us that he will be taking us out to dinner with his lady friend for voting for Trump.

That is excellent! The nerve of multi-millionaire Democrats and leftists. The extra money wouldn’t mean anything to them, but it does to us.

The reality of the increases in most working Americans’ take home paychecks will destroy the left wing rhetoric of the screaming liberals, like Pelosi.

I saw an ad on TV that infuriated me! It makes false statements about the tax bill and asks people to contact my local congressman to tell him to repeal the bill. It’s paid for by some bogus organization called “repeal the tax bill”, if I remember correctly.

It would be interesting to know who/what is paying for those ads and if these ads are national!

Yes, I would like to know. It’s probably some group funded by Soros money.

If anyone can find out, it will be Liz.

I did a couple of searches and didn’t find anything about who are their contributors.

EXCERPT-—Democrats are set to go up on the air with a seven-figure TV ad buy targeting House Republicans in multiple districts with a lot of working-class whites — as well as in districts with more college-educated whites, I’ve learned. The animating idea is that the GOP tax proposals — which will be featured in the ads — are likely to prove toxic among both those constituencies, and particularly among those working-class whites who switched from Barack Obama to Trump.

The template for the new ads is this spot that is going up this week in the district of Rep. Bruce Poliquin (R-Maine):

The ads are paid for by Not One Penny, a campaign launched by progressive groups to oppose all tax cuts for millionaires, billionaires and big corporations. Tim Hogan, a spokesman for the group, confirmed to me that it would soon announce an ad buy of more than $1 million, targeting 25 House GOP districts, with around a dozen of them heavy on working-class white voters.

The goal of the ads will be to hit two messages. The first is that the GOP changes to the tax code themselves would be enormously regressive, showering most of their benefits on the wealthy while giving crumbs to working- and middle-class Americans or even raising their taxes. The second is that these tax cuts would necessitate big cuts to the safety net later — the ad references $25 billion in Medicare cuts that could be triggered by the GOP plan’s deficit busting — further compounding the GOP agenda’s regressiveness down the line.

Geoff Garin, a pollster for the Democratic super PAC Priorities USA, tells me that his polling shows that this combination alienates working-class whites, particularly Obama-Trump voters. “They are fundamentally populist in their economic views, and they find big breaks to corporations and the wealthy especially heinous when the flip side of that means cutting Medicare and Medicaid,” Garin said.

The Ds really are not that smart.

The tax deal hurting CA, NY, and MA costs the GOP zero politically. Same with WA. They never had them and never was going to have them.

Pass it, let the rest of the country paying for those four states win, and let those states finally face the music for unsustainable state regulation and overtaxation.

In WA state, the freeways and surface streets are crawling with cops writing tickets. Nobody is safe.

It’s a mill. Any and everything they can tax is being taxed. They are doing ‘by the mile’ tax now for cars, trying to ‘replace’ the nation’s top tax rate on gasoline (top 3).

WA state is tilting to full retard/full totalitarian. The governor here is ambitious and stupid, which is the worst of all combos.

Thanks, Liz and Grampa Dave! I emailed my congressman and told him the ad made me angry and that it’s full of lies. I told him I appreciated his vote in favor of the tax bill, and the only problem with it was that it didn’t cut taxes enough. I hope he hears from more people like me.
