As House Republicans propose an immigration bill conservatives could gladly support, Senate Republicans seem to be moving to the Left on immigration.
A bipartisan immigration deal to grant amnesty to so-called “Dreamers” and take steps toward securing the border has reportedly been reached in the U.S. Senate. The Washington Post reports that a group including Sens. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., are presenting the framework of their DACA plan to the White House Thursday.
“We’ve got this bipartisan group, we’re at a deal,” Sen. Flake told reporters Thursday. “So we’ll be talking to the White House about that and I hope we can move forward with it. It’s the only game in town. There’s no other bill.”

I figured all along that Trump was just giving the Dems enough rope to hang themselves. He knew damn good and well they wouldn’t actually negotiate when push dame to shove, and would reject out of hand ANYTHING at all that wasn’t 100% exactly what THEY wanted, which is the status quo of open borders established by obama . By appearing to be willing to negotiate, Trump was setting the Dems up to be the intransigent bad guys. It’s THAT simple.
Until Tom Cotton puts his vote where and when it counts he is just talking a good game and hoping he is not the 50th vote for VP Pence to break the tie with. GOPe until proven otherwise. Talk is cheap!
I don’t trust politicians, Trump included. Generally speaking, they have secret interests at heart, not our interests at heart. But when they campaign on doing what we want, then there is a higher chance that what they secretly want, and what we openly want, actually align.
However, at the exact moment that they start doing things that we don’t want, we need to let them know that 1) we see they are doing things that we don’t want, 2) we remember them saying they were going to do what we want, if applicable, and 3) they better do what we want, or we will cause them pain. That exercise is healthy, even if they were actually planning on doing what we want, but accidentally sent us signals they weren’t. Because our outrage usually gets them back in line, if their goals and our goals are actually in alignment. Or at least, it helps get what we want, if the politician doesn’t want to suffer the pain we may bring them.
If properly presented, it would be easy to show how deeply self-serving and flatly anti-American the dems are acting. They have essentially decided that it’s too hard to convince enough of the actual citizens of this nation to vote for them consistently, especially if those citizens manage to better their lot in life and then desire to actually keep some of what they have earned. So, they have instead treasonously decided that they will simply import a compliant and dependent electorate, and eventually achieve the critical mass necessary to outvote real American citizens. They have really set upon governing a different country, and attempting to replace this great nation with a third world banana republic that they can despotically control.
There is no doubt about this. The dems prove their treachery every time they inexplicably fight any attempt to secure the border against illegal invaders, or to ensure that those illegals cannot vote once they get here. I cannot conceive of a clearer example of treason AND sedition than politicians who intentionally undermine the very foundations of their own country, betraying and endangering their nations citizens in the process, and do it all merely to satisfy their personal lust for power.
Every one of them should be hanging in the Capitol rotunda. But patriotic Republicans should also be shouting this indisputable fact from the mountain tops 100 times a day.
Trump ran on numerous campaign promises...We all know what they are...One that applies right here is that Trump constantly bemoaned the fact that all of his predecessors made campaign promises to get elected but when they got to Washington, they’d forget about those promises...Trump promised he wouldn’t forget about those campaign promises...
To our dismay Trump recently said he would slide on DACA as long as he got to end chain migration, halt the visa program, and build the wall...Many of us saw that as a cave in...
And while it’s not impossible that Trump would give up DACA in order to get the rest of his demands, it is so improbable that the Democrats will give up all three of those to save DACA...And the deadline is March 15...
I’d say things are looking up...
Those that are optimists, who believe that good will win in the end, aren’t as motivated to make their voices heard, except in the rare cases where their limit has been reached, and they finally feel violated. This is the generally good-hearted Republicans I’m talking about, of which only a few ever reach a site like FR to vent their frustrations.
On the other hand, the liberals have been trained to believe they are all victims, so every day of their life they feel violated. They believe everything is unfair, and are therefore in some constant form of protest. Their motivation to protest and fight for their cause is always paramount in their minds. Democratic politicians then fan these flames of victimhood, and desired retribution.
Unfortunately this often means that the liberals are more motivated to support their causes than conservatives are. Conservatives are too busy enjoying their lives, and their liberty, to spend every moment angry and trying to make someone pay for it. We just don’t want a bunch of criminals, or freeloaders, invading our privacy, but that’s exactly why liberals support open borders, so they can flood the happy people with bottom feeders and drag us all down to their level.

President Reagan (most beloved here until Trump) made a major error trusting Dems and allowing for amnesty w/o wall. As Reagan learned and stated: Trust, but verify!
So we are not allowed to disagree with the President on a position? And if we do, we are “trashing” him?**
Do you always agree with your family and friends? Are Freepers who went to rallies, supported Trump financially, and voted for him (like me) not allowed to state that they don’t like the way things are going on an issue w/o being described as trashing the President?
Regarding trashing, I saw folks here trashing Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham, as well as Levin simply because those 3 disagreed with the administration. I did not mention Hannity because he was thrown under the bus by Freepers 2 months ago for the Roy Moore interview. Again I don’t always agree with their positions either, but I rather watch their programing than Don Lemmon and Rachael Madcow.
Frankly, I am glad the “right wing” (as described by Linda Graham after the Tues meeting) spoke loud and clear that Dems should not be trusted, Wall should be built first, etc. Trump ran on the wall, not DACA. If amnesty is granted w/o the wall, it will be a failed deal like before, only this time, it will be on the GOP. Not only is Trump’s political career on the line, but the future of our country is at stake, as Reagan said: Trust, but verify!
My point, I think we should question what ALL pols are doing and hold them accountable—even my beloved President Trump. Again, Trust, but verify because future of our country is at stake.

Soon every state will know the true position on DACA of their Republican ( GOPe) Senators. There will be no electoral uncertainty on the issue on election day 2018.
Trump is smoking them out into the open. Many will decide not to run again or will be primaried out.
Love Trump as I do and support him as I do, I just cant see how a deal can be made here.
The more time goes on, sadly I think Trump may have to be sacrificed politically - i.e. he may have to stick to his guns (which he absolutely will) and go down in defeat electorally, maybe this year and next general election. That is he will possibly have to sacrifice himself.
The deck is just so stacked against him politically and with the help of the media and the newer generations of ‘snowflakes’. These people just don’t get it and they don’t understand what will happen if the socialist agenda keeps on being progressed.
The damage done by the Bush’s the Clintons and Obama along with their treasonous evil cohorts including Republicans is just too severe and ingrained through education, the IRS, the judiciary, military, elements of the executive branch and culturally.
When I say Trump may have to be sacrificed politically I say this as a positive, as hopefully it will cause a split in the Republicans that will allow a real united nationalist voice to emerge and save America.
Trump in effect has led that charge and I hope and pray I am wrong and he gets to take the flag on to victory, but it may well have to come further down the line, but then maybe it is even too late for that. Even so, he will be a key player in any such move.
People must not be afraid or submit to the old arguments ‘vote third party and you’ll get democrats’. Its absolutely rubbish. In the UK we had to vote third part i.e. UKIP to get our referendum and with a bit of luck our freedom. It can be done.
I have been dismayed to read even posters here criticising Trumps most recent comments. I find that very surprising. The comments are tame and accurate. Maybe its more an extreme term over there, but here in the UK we say this all the time - we constantly call places shit holes - even towns and cities in our own country.

I had an opportunity to spend sometime with a 20 something bright Detroiter. He asked me what I thought of Trump. I said their is this theory (FR-er "LS" ) of the mouse and the cheese, but some are saying is using the smack talking tactics of the WWF. He stopped in his tracks turned his head to me and said, "you know your right!" He got it.

It would take me 1/2 hr to dovetail off your comments, their are so many facets how he plays the media, congress against themselves in public while being "the boss" that has to sign something and they don't know what to do with his "disruptive" business model, it is absolute schadenfreudedal delight every day, that they get played and get angry, and they still don't get it. I'd hate to see them selling a collector car and PDJT comes to buy it and lays cash on the hood of the car much less than what they wanted and and says take it over leav it and they say yes. They all suck at negotiating and he is the master of it....
