Actually, it would be a gift to the people living in the Mexican border states.
Those poor people live in terror of the drug cartels.
If the border wall is built the drug cartels will likely abandon the border states and look for easier smuggling routes.
The Mexican border states may then experience a more normal life.

Although Pres. Trump’s southern wall won’t be the perfect remedy to stopping the flow of illegal drugs into the country, I don’t see where it will be a “gift” to the drug cartels.
