Yes, you’re right. By comparison, Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia was at 33% for 2015 and 27% for 2016.

So therefore we should hope that CA, NY and ME should not send any (R)’s to congress because none of them are 100% conservative in your mind?

That is a GREAT attitude! I am not sure how accurate
you might be but it reminds me of some suspicions that
I have had for a long time. First, I believe that there
are some funky things that go on with regard to election
day. Second, thru the state and national media people
are bullied into believing that the Democrat party in
California is, in fact, more powerful than they really
are which becomes a reality because too many people
believe the bullshit to ever challenge it.

My small town high school back in the 1960s had more
than its’ share of fist fights on a daily basis. When
a new guy came along he would be challenged if he
acted as if he was higher in the pecking order than
he deserved. But sometimes the new guy would be an
artful bullshitter who convinced others that he was
a serious ass kicker so people would avoid crossing
him and he would get away with being a fake wannabe
bully. Eventually, some middle of the pack fighter
would hook it up with the new guy and kick his ass.
Other guys would wonder why the new dude hadn’t been
challenged before. This is my long way of saying that
lots of people have swallowed Democrat bluster here
without a challenge. On the other hand this phony
power posing has made pussies of the California GOP.
And, in a related note California conservatives need
to get control of the message or some of it, at least.
The newspapers are not about to be fair to us and
our POV.

Ontap, one of the major themes of political power
in my mind is that without a free and IMPARTIAL press
the citizens are screwed. Being 100% in the tank
for any side is a dangerous proposition. A free press
is supposed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict
the powerful. Today we have only one sided activist
journalism.

The MSM today have been somewhat neutered by Fox news and the Internet. They still have power but it is dwindling!!!

Agreed. There is FOX, social media, Limbaugh, etc on
the national level. But how do you replicate that on
a state level to get the conservative word out? There
have been various columnists who write about statewide
topics which are published in many of the newspapers
in the state. But, as I don’t read the large city
California papers I don’t know of any conservative
journalists who are currently statewide syndicated.
Further, I’m not sure that many of the liberal rags
would publish such a journalist and, besides, most
most of the conservative base readership have given
up on reading the printed news due to the rest of the
liberal drivel. Still, it might be nice to syndicate
one or more of the relatively few conservative
Cali journalists.
