Donald Trump held an extraordinary public negotiation on immigration reform with congressional leaders, during which he declined to commit himself to any particular policy but affirmed that he would sign off on whatever Congress sends him.

Ill wait and see. Whenever Ive had my doubts about Trump, hes proven me wrong. There some value to making yourself sound reasonable and compassionate by sounding open to things you will never agree to.
Trump said a wall would be the price of a deal for DACA, and I believe he would take that deal. Some consider that a sellout, but I think its moot since the Democrats will never agree. The terms might as well be the dissolution of their party. A third world party requires a steady stream of third worlders.
Don’t get your Trump news from Kevin Williamson.
He’s second only to Bill Kristol in his Trump hatred.
Be great if his Crap wasn’t posted here. At least it gives m a chance to disparage him. So there’s that.
If he did Kevin Williamson and National Review you should be praising him. It’s what you want, but he didn’t.
what you said.
Consider the source.
National Review’s love for open borders is why I gave up my subscription to the rag way back in the 1990s.
They aren’t fooling anyone with their fake concern now.
standby for just weeks??? more like two years...
sad but true
He is without a doubt the last hope that California has.
And if he won’t deport the millions who don’t belong here it won’t just be California that is gone forever. The rest of you will be next
One thing about the DACAs, most have assimilated into the US culture - not like other illegals. Ill take them for an end to chain migration and VISa lotteries. Though I know the next RAT president will abandon border security to get around it. Its the best we can hope for now.
Where have you been for the last year? Trump is one guy and can’t get a Republican Congress to do anything. The fact he got the Tax Bill done is a miracle.
These people in charge hate him and he has to use whatever tactics he can to get anything done. So is a trade on a deal about DACA to get the wall funded a bad deal?
Trump will be lucky to get some of things he promised done. Remember even Reagan said if he could three major things done he wanted he would consider that a victory.
Whatever Trump is able to get done we have to be happy with it. He is doing all one man can do against an array of enemies. Look at the big picture rather than the narrow one. We take our victories where we can.
DACA is demographic suicide by design. Trump should know this.
You are right, of course.
But your words are wasted on the anti-Trump concern trolls.

My general position is no DACA. However I would consider letting some heavily vetted self-sufficient persons stay IF there is NEVER a path to citizenship if they DON’T LEAVE FIRST and come back the right way.
Interestingly I was emailed a Trump survey today about immigration and there actually was a choice of ‘how important’ for an illegal to never get citizenship. I have to assume that is really a DACA question since any other illegal would be deported and citizenship is not in the picture.
Give them the option: residency without full citizenship or a 25 year wait to apply for citizenship. Simple.
“Trump is a master of controlling the media. He got the RATs to agree to Border Security today, as part of DACA - no one is talking about that.”
But “Border Security” was undefined. If it means the wall, hell the Rats know they can get a Rat judge to issue an injunction on going forward with that. So if “Border Security” is just about the wall, the Rats just rolled Trump, and they pretty much get their clean DACA at the same time.
That is what everyone is squawking about: “Border Security” was not defined.
“One thing about the DACAs, most have assimilated into the US culture - not like other illegals.”
Who told you that? There was just report recently that half of the DACAs know no English at all! How is that assimilating?
That headline is wrong and written by a never Trumper... to mislead.
