FBI ruled McCabe had no conflict of interest in Clinton probe: docs

The FBI said in documents released Friday that Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did not have any role in the probe into Hillary Clinton's private email server while his wife ran as a Democrat for state office in Virginia.

The documents note that Jill McCabe announced her candidacy for state Senate in Virginia in March 2015, while Andrew McCabe's role as deputy director started in February 2016, three months after his wife lost her electoral bid.

Andrew McCabe had asked ethics officials if his wife's candidacy would lead to a potential conflict of interest while he was working as an assistant director at the FBI Field Office in Washington, D.C., the documents show.

“From the first contemplation that his wife would run for office in Virginia, [McCabe] sought out and consulted with ethics officers, which included briefings on the Hatch Act,” the records state.

A "system of recusal" was also put in place to prevent any potential conflicts of interests, according to the documents.

The release of the documents comes after President Trump and other Republicans have claimed McCabe had a conflict of interest due to his wife's electoral bid, noting that her campaign was supported by a super-PAC associated to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), a Clinton ally.

“””Yes, I think that the lower down the level FBI people are okay;”””

I keep hearing this statement from the media. What proof does the media have to back up the statement about lower level FBI staff being ok?

Remember how the media and the politicians kept lying to us by saying “Muslims are a Religion of Peace”.

Yeah, nobama had 8 years to really screw things up in the government, in some parts of it they didn’t need much help in going to hell.

The FBI exonerates its own. Will wonders never cease.

EVERYTHING your wife has going on is a conflict of interest. As long as she has the ability to make you sleep on the couch, and you can avoid that by helping her, then everything she has going on is a conflict of interest for you.

I had no clue until recently just how deeply corrupt the FBI is. It needs to be blown up and restart from scratch.

The mistake was in making a move on McCabe before the right people were in place.

I believe that is why Sessions is moving slowly and ignoring the lynch mob.

The FBI and the DOJ are full of very liberal fanatics and it will take move than the first year to sort them all out and put them in positions that make them powerless.

So McCabe was investigated by his pals.

I bet he didn’t disclose the money donated to his wife. I think he was just looking for a pass.

His wife got $700,000 for a STATE office, not even for a National office.....WHY ELSE was she given all this money but as a BRIBE?,

The state propaganda machine known as the FBI wants us to believe differently, to not believe the obvious.

That would be like Al Capone running an internal ethics probe into his crime syndicate and finding no wrong doing.

I’m not saying that ALL of the lower level FBI ( throw in the CIA too, for that matter )agents are the good guys; obviously they aren’t! But the entire upper echelon, over there, appears to be rotten to the core and needs to be swept out, in one fell swoop.

“The FBI” didn’t rule. Some individual at the FBI ruled that McCabe had no conflict. I just looked at the relevant document. As far as I can tell, McCabe himself ruled (”Approved By: McCABE ANDREW G”) that he, McCabe, had no conflict!

Wonder of wonders!

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Seriously?. mccabe signed off on his own no conflict report?

bout par for the course with this bunch

My only question too - WHEN were these documents from? IOW, was this decision pre-Trump or at least when Comey was head of the FBI, or a recent one?
