Ditto. We were long-time Dallas Cowboys fans starting back in the Roger Staubach era, but no more. I haven’t watched a single NFL game in 2 years. If college players start pulling this crap, I won’t watch any football ever again.
It really is very clever. A fascist and totalitarian ideology wrapped up under the umbrella of “religion”. It is the most dangerous and sinister Trojan Horse that can infect a culture. The most easily fooled are the atheists, they’ll just stick to their “all religions are false and equal” narrative while not understanding the chasm that separates their ideas. The only thing standing between them and Islamic conquest is a Christian, yet they don’t even see it.
When I was 21 I too had a best bud that was a Pakistani Muslim. His wife was so nice too. It seems that many are Muslim by association (required and not questioned) but not very orthodox. He ended up leaving, went back to Pakistan...with loads of Metallica albums (that I got him into!). The problem is, even with the liberal ones, if they become more religious as they get older, they come to believe that they must make up for their sins and it results in them instantly turning radical. Of course, the fastest way to get to heaven, considering their sins, is to commit the largest murderous act against non-Muslims. The ideology warps the mind in a way that is truly genius yet evil.

I think you are correct. I am starting to lose interest even in my beloved college football. (especially since my Sooners lost a heart-breaker) I’m quite tired of hearing about how wonderful the SEC is.
