Prices historically double every 20 years. That’s what the Federal Reserve considers benign inflation.
Wish I remembered the MULTITUDES of Freepers who attacked me several years ago when I said this whole H1B was a scam for employers.
They had melt downs at my anti capitalism.
Salary is unchsnged and in many instsnces lower.
That is a dignificant loss in buying power and eliminates any room for savings.
What are they going to do for workers? American kids can no longer read or write due to the school system and welfare pays so good they don’t want to work anyway.

They can hire unemployed/underemployed, experienced American IT workers.

That’s correct. The reason is the Federal Reserve blames rising wages for inflation. The fact is wages are the last thing to rise after the effects of currency devaluation, which is caused by the government. It should be no surprise that the corrupt system blames wages rather than the government.
You too? Between the guest workers and rampant age discrimination, I simply stopped looking.

The O-1 visa exists for these foreigners.
O-1 is higher level, not merely premium but darned near unique.
My fear is that any new “prevailing wage” definition will be twisted into a loophole nobody had considered.
I suppose you could set the minimum wage for an H1-B to $250,000 per year. A premium employee should be able to recover that wage & still be of value to their employer.
