President Donald Trump's legal team is mounting a credibility attack on former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, with plans to portray him as "a liar seeking to protect himself if he accuses the president or his senior aides of any wrongdoing," The Washington Post reported Wednesday..
"He's said it himself: He's a liar," one person working on the strategy told the Post.
Flynn's attorney, Robert Kelner, declined to comment.
Ty Cobb, President Trump's private attorney overseeing the response to Russia special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, also declined to comment.
The Post said its report was based on "three people familiar with the strategy."
The approach would mark a sharp departure from Trump's generally sympathetic approach toward Flynn, 58, a retired Army lieutenant general.
In February, Trump called Flynn a "wonderful man" after firing him over his inaccurate disclosures to Vice President Mike Pence about his Moscow contacts.
The president also refused to discuss whether he would consider pardoning Flynn, telling reporters Dec. 15: "I don't want to talk about pardons for Michael Flynn yet.
"We’ll see what happens," Trump said. "Let’s see.

Why should more be such a big surprise or controversy to question?
Why would they need to? Flynn’s already admitted to lying under oath. He’s no longer useful as a witness.
It’s fake news, and it’s purpose is to sow “FUD” among all Trump aides and supporters.
Obviously, the credibility of anyone who has pleaded guilty to a perjury charge would be attacked by any defense lawyers if that person’s testimony were to be used in other cases. That is an automatic legal strategy.
But WaPo talking about it now (with no legitimate sources) is simply an MSM attempt to stir things up with various Trump aides, make people fear they will be attacked or not supported etc. It is the Mediascum trying to cause conflicts and competing testimonies among Trump aides.

I think the media is trying to discredit Trump’s defense ahead of time. They know the Russian collusion thingy isn’t going anywhere. They have to stir the pot, and create a controversy some way to distract from that.
I have it on good authority that three people familiar with the operation of the Washington Post say that they have colluded with the Clinton campaign, and have engaged in knowingly spreading #fakenews.

The committee knows. They’re peppering the msm because these texts prove strzok did more than change language and wording on a few docs. He drafted the fuss’s with rice and forged power as thecrequestor, too. Then because Rice couldn’t actually draft AND approve the requests they’d submit, they forged them under Power and she testified to this. She testified she did not draft orbsubmit those requests with her name on it. Rice and Strzok did, then she approved, signed off on them herself and submitted to fisa courts for ruling.
And all of this, is a big part of Flynn’s story they wouldn’t accept his voluntary testimony on and blocked his requests for, soninstead, he “lied” to the fucking FBI, knowing they’d have to indict him and when they did, it would FORCE HIS TESTIMONY, ON THE RECORD so he pled guilty and walked, just like I promised y’all he (and Manafort) would, months ago... because Flynn is a bad ass fucking Patriot.
You’ll realize THIS will be what got Rice indicted, when she’s unsealed. Then?! They blast her on Benghazi. End of story.
