Well, at least this is somewhat of a consolation prize for Roy Moore losing.

The question on everybody’s mind: Does he still like himself?

I wonder if it isn’t some sort of pension or tax thing (or even succession thing).

After the 1st of the year usually has significance in those areas.

I think he was surprised and peaved off enough by how many Democrats turned against him he’s just happy to throw in the towel and walk away from the whole cluster. Can’t say I blame him either.

I wondered if the 2018 date had anything to do with pension benefits

The only unhappy Democrat the night of the Alabama election was Al Franken. He was counting on Moore to win so that he could go back on his resignation.

You nailed it, Fish Lips’ pension will go up. All about the dough-re-mi.

But will he get to French kiss her and feel her up first?

I think he picks up another year’s worth of pension credit by resigning in 2018.

Tina Smith, former VP of Planned Parenthood in Minnesota.

So as a society we have come to this: a sworn abortionist is considered more respectable then a retired Judge with many enemies due to his position and one unfounded allegation of impropriety.

Makes Franken look almost sympathetic.

He's vested for pension. Probably has to more to do with January 3rd being the start of the next Senate session. He wants Tina Smith to be there from day one.
