The head of Purdue University’s School of Engineering Education, Donna Riley, argued in a recently published academic journal article tough engineering courses only serves to uphold “white male heterosexual privilege.” According to a report from Campus Reform, Riley, in an astonishing feat of vague postmodern writing, published an article in the most recent issue of the academic journal Engineering Education in which she argued that the concept of academic “rigor” is used as a means to exclude students from marginalized groups from academic communities.

Thank god I got my degree from Purdue decades ago when it actually meant something.

Of course! That’s the problem with virtually all women in engineering. I encountered many in my former career. They start out with an engineering degree, and after a few years decide that they really don’t like it very much. They will invariably leave the field (quit or transfer) for a more non-technical position.
Beat me by ten minutes.
Give everyone an A and watch the total and literal collapse of America.

I just had two kids just graduate from Purdue, one with an astronautical engineeing degree and the other with a biomedical engineering degree. Both worked their asses off and didn’t get anything handed to them — in spite of their “whiteness”. My son is now a rocket designer at a leading aerospace firm, and my daughter just landed a job at one of the largest biomedical firms.
They EARNED it. It wasn’t handed to them!
And this is no doubt happening in every engineering school in the country.
White privilege, slut shaming. dog whistle racism. Liberals always distill their simplistic victim identity politics down to 2 or 3 word simple slogans so those amongst them can grasp why they are victimized by the big bad white male hetero wolf and repeat it endlessly. Rules are the slogan cannot exceed three words or their attention deficit kicks in.
Which is why more Americans will be looking to study abroad.

I got my EE degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the late ‘60s. It was a tough ciriculum and needed to be so. It still does.
You don’t get a “Participation” trophy for engineering. You are either right or wrong. When dealing with power, digital logic, analog or whatever, close doesn’t count and being wrong and still feeling good about yourself is lethal!
This stupid bitch and her SJW mentality has no business anywhere near engineering!
I wonder if this lady needed brain surgury whom would she choose as a doctor, the doc with high marks or an affirmative action surgeon?

I suggest that you think about how smart such engineering people need to be next time you drive across ANY bridge & fly anywhere...
Employers want the best & the brightest.
Not the dumbest & the laziest.
IF you are charging for an education, the future employer has a right to expect that a ‘graduate’ GOT an education.
When she needs to drive over a bridge or have oral surgery, or use her smartphone, I think she will want the best thinkers on the job, not the most pc.

Purdue needs to show this snowflake to the exit. What will be the value of a Purdue engineering degree if the school plays along with this charlatan?
