Republicans fear deep losses in 2018 elections
The Hill ^ | December 13, 2017 | Reid Wilson

After years of strong gains in states across the country, Republicans now fear they stand to lose hundreds of state legislative seats in next year’s midterm elections if there is a significant voter backlash against President Trump.

Any losses would come at the worst time: Just ahead of the redistricting process that begins with the 2020 census.

I think I’m done playing the game. Let it burn.

Agree 100%. We can elect Trump, but it doesn't matter. We can nominate Christian conservatives, but the Media/Democrat/GOP axis will sic false witnesses on them. Right now, I see no point in voting in another Federal election. Maybe even state elections. Democracy is a FRAUD.

Not for me. The principle of the individual mandate is so anti-american, that I consider its removal the single most important thing our government could do. If the camel behind that nose in the tent were to get in, we would lose all liberty.

Every. Single. Scrap.

There is a strong chance after the midterms that President Trump gets impeached, with republican support.
Show me the man and I will find you a crime will apply.

Republicans probably deserve to lose. First they act like dimms, can’t get anything the American people want, hide under their respective desks during any controversy and last but most important is that they ARE NOT REPRESENTING ANY ONE BUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL SELVES.

They are little more then greedy, cowardly wimps that seem to be happier obeying the wants of dimms.

... the Republicans are willing to loose the majority in the house and senate if it stops the Trump agenda without them taking the blame.

Precisely. That's been the plan all along.

The GOP Establishment has done everything possible to insure that they will lose the House and Senate majorities in 2018. Entirely self inflicted. They have done nothing at all to advance the Will of The People.

The bottom line is that they are only interested in advancing their own interests and that’s a fact.

well stated. We have a true leader in the Presidents chair and a bunch of self centered , would rather fake they want change , do nothings, in both houses. The shell game of you scratch my back, I scratch yours is being exposed...

They actively supported the destruction of the tea party. They’re on record as doing so.

The tea party was the start of MAGA, Trump heard that and carried the ball into the end zone to later find out that on the ensuing posessions, whether or O or D he was 1 person against 11....

It’s not about Trump,It’s about a Congress that does nothing and hates our country and our President. If we don’t stop these bastards we will have to fight them in the field. Democrats are the most anti American ,Racist, Sexist, Hypocrites, If they have it their way they’ll be a mosque on every corner and no one will be safe. “WAKE UP AMERICA”

If the individual mandate still exists on election day in 2018, I’m not just going to not vote. I’m going to vote straight democrat. Rome needs to burn.

You won't be alone in that, either.

That position makes no sense

Makes all the sense in the world. Trump was our last best hope to fix things. If it can't be fixed, it's time to tear it down and start over.

the newly arriving Puerto Ricans

Trump needs to offer asylum to white South Africans who are at risk of violence.

Settle these fine people in FL.

YES, I'm serious!

There is a strong chance after the midterms that President Trump gets impeached, with republican support.

At that moment, it is incumbent upon us to then turn away from a ballot box that no longer works, and move to the next box.

I’m not looking forward to impeachment proceedings but that’s probably what the Dems will feel their mandate is.

Nah. Then they get Pence as president, whose political agenda would be virtually the same. Better to keep a neutered Trump in office and run against him in 2020, from their strategic standpoint.

Why shouldn’t a party that is doing the most it can to lose, not expect to lose. You cannot name one thing done at the party level or by the leadership of the House and Senate that amounts to an attempt to win.

He didn’t even deny it! A 30-something year old men hitting on underage girls - at least one as young as 14? Yes, that’s a pedophile. The number of allegations made it credible. The fact that he gave a wishy-washy denial to a friendly interviewer was enough to lose him the election.

He should have quit the race, but really, he should have never run in the first place. Don’t hide behind the cross because you got behind a creep and everyone else you needed to elect him didn’t line up behind him too.

Keep it up, Republicans, and you will have the deep losses. Get behind Trump, and you will have yuge gains. They seem to prefer the losses, as evidenced by McConnell’s efforts to elect Jones.

A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.
