Experienced political Alabama columnist Jeff Flowers reports extremely heavy turnout, early, in rural highly evangelical areas.
He seems to have an objective view of the race. Predicts 7% win for Moore. Out of state liberal money poured in...Moore outspent 14/1.

I agree. So many “tea party” candidates have turned out to be easily controlled regular establishment senators once they win, such as Rubio, Sasse, etc. From what I have read, Moore will not be easily controlled. That is why it is so important to them.

i was thinking the same thing, namely it would trace back to the billions siphoned off by the corrupt CFPB. Furthermore, this money would have been better spent in enhancing our economic base instead of being mostly funneled to media outfits like TV stations and newspapers.

Moore is no Trump, but in a lot of ways, he taps that same vein of eff you to the powers that be. Roy Moore has the following he has, because he has stood up to the outsiders telling Alabamans how they have to think and live for decades, and stuck up for it so much he has been removed from office at least twice for standing up for what most Alabamans believe.
Wether it was the 10 commandments at the courthouse or gay marriage... Moore has shown he won’t yield. Now to liberal outsiders they think Moore stand for ignorant backwater hillbilly yokel racist biggotted crap.. But what they don’t realize is that once you get outside the liberal enclaves MOST american’s don’t agree with the things they have used the courts to force down folks throats on these and many other topics.
The Dems have painted themselves into a geographical corner, their identity politics have gotten them huge support in a few small densely packed urban states, and alienated them in the rest of the country.... And since we are a republic and not a democracy, it was only a matter of time before their folly of we can make it up by more voters in smaller segments of the country, would come crashing down.
And do you think Moore would not back a conservative Judge? Come on be serious.
Prove me wrong. Take any statistical table and metric you wish. The black family has been utterly destroyed. They represent 16 percent of the population, yet account for the majority of violent crime. They abort their children in higher numbers than any other demographic. Their incidence of out of wedlock births is in the stratosphere.
My view have nothing do with “hatred” - and everything to do with reality. Nor has my opinion anything to do with “objecting to large families.” My objections are directed at those who spawn children like locusts, either in or out of wedlock, but fail to take responsibility for them.

I think what is in play is that Trump is winning. If Moore can be defeated, that is a defeat for Trump and Trumpism and Bannon, i.e., a defeat for conservative populism’s attempt to control the GOP. If Moore were to lose, the narrative would be that the Trump wave has ended. So I think that has huge psychological significance for both the President’s political prestige and therefore power, and for the GOP primaries going into the 2018 mid-terms.
Off course Moore will back a conservative justice, but Jones will not and he will be in office until the end of Trump’s first term. The outcome of this election is a big deal.
It’s a subjective response to the suffering of others.
And often those who excel at marketing their suffering aren’t suffering at all, while those who are genuinely suffering remain silent. Empathy-based law commodifies pain, but it’s empty of justice.

Also, IIRC, Obama had a huge advertising budget that he could use to influence the media. Does anybody remember that?
The amount of money is not a consideration, as they did not earn it by their own hand, other than holding it out for a palm greasing. they simply spend it until they run out, then wait for more.
The wave that crashed in '16 continues, and they are besides themselves at the prospect of losing everything they schemed for.
I think this will be a win for Moore, in the same spirit that Trump won - as an in-your-face to the MSM.

I agree with you. High turnout is good for Moore. In 2016 Trump took 62.1% of the Alabama vote to Hillary’s 34.4%. She won in Jefferson county (Birmingham) and Montgomery county (Montgomery). The 37% difference from 2016 shows why the recent Fox poll that sampled with a much narrower R to D ratio is ridiculous. As Leonard PostToasties, the famous fottbal prognosticator, would say back in the day, “The democrat donkeys have dropped their biggest load on the Alabama voters in the last few weeks but the voters have managed to avoid stepping in any of that crap. The Republican pachyderm will trudge on to victory on Tuesday. Leonard’s loser by 10% - Doug Jones!

theoretically. but since founded in 1789, the U.S. Senate has expelled only 15 members, but 14 of those expulsions were for supporting the Confederacy, which means only one member has been expelled in the entire history of the U.S. Senate for reasons unrelated to the Civil War. Interestingly enough, the Senate was even unable to expel the only four Senators who were actually convicted of crimes.

It’s all bluster about actually expelling Moore (or anyone else for that matter). At most, they might insert a demerit certificate (censure) in his “permanent record”, but I seriously doubt there’s enough actual evidence to actually do even that. Besides, Moore has already been expelled from the Alabama Supreme Court TWICE, so I suspect being censured by the Senate would be seen as a badge of honor by him and his constituency.
