MONTGOMERY, Alabama — Frank Luntz, a GOP establishment messaging consultant, was visibly flabbergasted as every single one of his focus group participants in a Birmingham area Vice News-produced panel backed Judge Roy Moore for U.S. Senate. Titled “Why These Alabama Voters Are Sticking By Roy Moore,” Luntz’s Vice News focus group aired on Vice News Tonight on Dec. 8 on HBO.
“Are you all Christians here?” Luntz opens the seven-and-a-half-minute long segment. “Yes,” all of the focus group participants, who joined Luntz in a Birmingham area restaurant, replied.
“Is Roy Moore a good Christian?” he followed up.
“Yes,” one woman replied. “Absolutely,” another said.
“Absolutely?” Luntz followed up in disbelief. “Yes,” the woman shot back. “Without any doubt whatsoever?” Luntz asked again.
After some more back and forth, a man in the focus group spoke up. Scottie Porter, a real estate developer, said:
He’s not my choice, I’m not voting for him because I like him. I’m voting for him because I don’t want Doug Jones. But Roy Moore is entitled to the presumption of innocence in the law and in the Bible just like anybody else should be. There are only accusations. There have been no charges filed. All you have is a group of women who have come forward.
“How many? How many?” Luntz pressed Porter.
“Seven,” he replied.
“There’s really only three,” one woman yelled out.

Again. The local AL voter knows more than the expensive Washington insider GROPelites “expert”. And IS willing to speak up!
If Moore wins, the MSM is dead. That’s the big news in this election.
Another expert to report “unexpected” results.
It’s the focus groups opinions that are of interest, not Luntz’s, but he can’t seem to help sharing them.
Now this is interesting....B'ham is a dem stronghold.

I don’t know if he’s a D.C. elite, but have read he’s at least a Hollywood elitist, so that explain him being flabbergasted by Southern conservatives. He no doubt knows a lot of the “MeToo” perps.
I’m convinced now Judge Moore will win by double digits on Tuesday.

Seeing Moore win will be as fun as seeing Karen Handel win my GA-06 district.
What does he think his role is exactly?
A sea change in political labels and majorities perhaps, in other ways there is great continuity. I grew up in Alabama during the Wallace era. If there was one thing guaranteed to set Alabamians against anything, it was the condescension and interference of self-righteous outsiders. In other words, a major part of the Dems’ game.

Not really. For example, when he does his focus groups in the Florida Panhandle, he does them in Pensacola. However, participants live as far as three hours away. I don’t think they are only Birmingham people.
Opinion polls - and pollsters - are to influence, not measure, public opinion.
Luntz was shocked, because he is part of the GOPe. He can’t understand the federal government hating, liberty loving Republican voters. Like the rest of the GOPe, Luntz hasn’t realized that there was a revolution within the Republican Party last year and the leader of that revolution resides in the White House.

For one who is known for skilled “analysis” of his panels’ opinions, Luntz obviously has not bothered to analyze the “evidence” against Roy Moore. If he had, Luntz would know that there is no evidence against Roy Moore.
With his focus groups, all Luntz does is try to pull his groups to his predetermined conclusions. Nice to see a group that doesn’t follow his lead.
Lunta is a putz. Hard to believe how anyone can take him seriously...
