Right. And I'm actually talking about the possibility that the Trump people knew about the surveillance during the election campaign.

This article is complete crap.

McCarthy wants us to believe in the integrity of the FBI and their pursuit of the dossier, never once mentioning the name “Strzok.”

And his conclusion that Trump may not want to order the declassification of the FISA request is because it has information damaging to Trump in it, is completely at odds with the earlier part of his own article, where he contends at great length that Trump didn’t declassify documents about the unmasking, even though those would have likely defended Trump’s position that he had been illegally monitored.

Nothing’s changed. They just let one writer say one thing one time.

Just like Watergate. Except that they used the FBI to do the dirty work instead of doing it themselves.

The primary Watergate informer, known as "deep throat", was eventually revealed to have been the FBI deputy director himself.

The official surveillance started sometime in October when the second FISA request was approved. There were stories the Brits were spying on him between the 2 FISA requests. I haven’t seen any recent chatter about that. It wouldn’t surprise me if his security team found a few actual bugs in Tower.

The dossier was originated as a “justification” to perform all manner of what otherwise would be illegal activity by the Democrats and the deep state concerning Trump.

McCarthy has had some terrific articles recently analyzing the Mueller investigation, but this one is way off base and it's pretty clear that Andy's rabidly anti-Trump editors at NRO have told him to ease up on the Trump exonerating stuff.

Agreed, it is at it's core a pro-FBI, anti-Trump article, which is the opposite of many of his other recent articles. The obvious change in tone is quite interesting.

But as to the main point of the article, yes Trump could order this information released, and that may happen. But a very good reason for that not happening now is that it's evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation that will bring down the 0bama DOJ/FBI, and that's something waiting for.

Be careful thinking there is an actual criminal investigation going on right now targeting Strzok, Mueller, or anyone at the DoJ. All that we know is that the Inspector General is conducting an audit, which is a far cry from a criminal investigation. And, the IG lead is an Obama appointee. Right now the DoJ is under onslaught from Congress, the conservative media, and Trump's twitter, but Sessions seems more interested in protecting the perceived integrity of his department, than actually finding the truth, which could require prosecuting several potential criminals under his helm.

Unions? Did you say unions?

Because maybe you didn't hear, but The Donald is taking them on. And I mean government employee unions:

Trump administration asks Supreme Court to overrule precedent helping unions

There's a LOT going on with Trump's stratergery than you know about.

He mystifies me. From all accounts he is as righteous as they come, but he acts like someone being blackmailed. He reminds me of Sergeant Schultz. Actually, FBI director Wray acts like that too.

So Andre McCarthy is saying that, if Trump doesn’t release EVERYTHING, and de mand the release of EVERYTHING, he is of “something” because Trump must know “everything “ right?

You gotta wonder, with both CNN and Andrew McCarthy saying there is some truth to the dossier and its creator, Christopher Steele, vouching that 80-90 percent of the dossier is true, then why don’t we know after a year or more, what exactly is in the dossier that is true???

Is it a compilation of innocuous facts, like “yes”, the sun came up on such and such date, and that Carter Page boarded a plane, and that Trump considered a hotel in Russia???

I mean the dossier several dozen pages long, and all we got was this ugly tee shirt, and a sentence or two on Russian hookers.

I swear, it’s hard to make sense of any of it and after all this time, Trump must be waiting on something, since we now know he has always had access to anything he asked for and he still does.

I agree. But, late last night we briefly switched on CNN to see what they were saying. “Russia, Russia, Russia...” And, also, “The dossier is important, because so much what it says has turned out to be factually correct.”

LOL. What has turned out to be correct in the dossier is the publicly available info that any google search could turn up.

What the author fails to note is such direct actions by President Trump will be converted by the establishment media into “interference with the Special Counsel” “Obstruction of Justice” and a dozen other made up crimes.
President Trump has to carefully plan out and execute each step. I think he is doing so.

The author was a careerist Deep Stater and is a long standing Never Trumper who is completely unwilling to admit to the treasonous behavior of the Deep State.

“....Did the DOJ Misuse the Steele Dossier — to Spy on the Trump Campaign?....”

Yes, the DOJ did and it is a scandal, bigger then the weaponization of the IRS, bigger than the “pay for play” going on at the State Department, bigger than the scandal on the plane load of cash, gold/silver sent as a bribe to Iran by Obama.

Never Trumper McCarthy bizarrely assumes that the same FBI folks currently stonewalling Congress will be happy to turn over incriminating documents to the White House that burn them.

In all likelihood they would stonewall the White House, too. At that point POTUS faces a major crisis. Fire them and send Marines over to seize their computers or do nothing. No win for him there.

Andy can be hit or miss....this is a miss IMO. We don’t know everything that is going on in the “deep state”, so I’m going to go by the questioning & the smirk that was on Jim Jordan’s face that he has the goods on these people.

All true. And I'm probably getting out over of my skis, but after the way Jim Jordan treated FBI Director Wray this week, I just assumed that that IG report is going to have some pretty damning stuff in it.

Evidence must be gathered and eventually action taken against people presently active in the Deep State. THAT is a delicate and touchy task. Remember Trump talking about the state of things during the campaign? He often spoke in term a FREEPERS would use. It may well be coming...
