Opposition research must have started as soon as, if not before, Donald Trump announced he was running for president. I am sure many of Trump's Republican opponents, as well as Hillary Clinton, the DNC, liberal interest groups, the media, and others were searching far and wide for trash on Trump.
The research must not have produced enough trash, or else why would the DNC and Hillary have paid Fusion GPS so handsomely to create what is clearly a false document? Fusion GPS trafficked the document to the Justice Department and intelligence officials. They obviously had seen how many intelligence officials had been willing to lie, especially James Clapper and John Brennan, and had seen how the Justice Department had protected the Obama Administration and especially Hillary and her aides no matter what they did. It was obvious that they were not "independent."
The Justice Department and intelligence officials in turn used the fake dossier to justify spying on Trump officials and to open an investigation on supposed Russian collusion. Of course this was fake also because if they would have ever been concerned about Russian collusion they would have also investigated and spied on Hillary. But they didn't.

The only way to defeat Trump is to separate him from his supporters. The only path to that was to lie. They were caught.
It was done because they knew every candidate with the exception of Trump was establishment and would go along to get along. Trump was a danger to the swamp and had to be destroyed one way or another.
We need to keep in mind that Hillary was supposed to be President, but there were two major flaws. Like every rat, they are too lazy to actually do the work themselves. In 2012, Obama phoned in the debates because he either had the answers or was inoculated by the media as protection from Romney attacks. In 2016, the Clinton campaign was so sure they already had the rust belt, they didn’t bother campaigning there.
The second major flaw was the candidate herself, which is why we are seeing the massive hatred of Trump. They couldn’t paint Hillary as the proud grandmom who loves women and children and who has compassion and will do right by the American people. So instead, Clinton’s minions in the media and leftwing organizations turned Trump into a combination of Roman Pulanski and Hitler and say, who is the least despised of the two candidates. This is where Antifa stemmed from.
Bottom line is Trump is doing what he said he will do. With close to a billion dollars spent by Clinton, 93% of the media supporting Clinton, Hollywood, foreigners who need political favors, a corrupt US justice department and CIA, corrupt Republican leadership as well as the intelligentsia and their useful idiot students, and election fraud, Trump still destroyed her thighness. And the realization by the left is, with the exception of the 3 million plus votes cankles won by in California, Trump even beat her in the popular vote.
The left cannot deal with this and we are seeing the final death throws of the establishment. This really might be the reason why Trump is ignoring Mueller and company at this time. They had nothing in 2016 and still have nothing, or they would have taken him down then.
It also could explain Sessions recusal. If he was involved, everything Trump accomplished to date would never have happened since the world would be focused on Clinton and would have been a major distraction for Trump. This is what I surmise from all of this. We are just entering the theater to the biggest show ever. So go to the snack bar, get your popcorn and favorite beverage and take your time getting back to your seat, for when the curtain goes up, we are going to be entertained as never before.
It is the only thing they know how to do. Their perspective. Clinton brags about always living a complete lie. Never to tell truth, half truths, or mix lies with truth. Always lie big. Never lie small. Lie so big that anyone probing you would be made to look crazy. “That’s the first lady you know”

I think THAT says a lot about Trump's character right there.
More than other general classes of people I have dealt with, Democrats “project.” They believe that because they do something; use drugs, abuse children, peer through neighbors windows at night, that other people are guilty of the same things they do.
However, it is difficult to actually catch people doing those things, because, they themselves have never been caught at it. Therefore, you have to simply generate the evidence that you know would be there if you could just find it. Because the subject is actually guilty of the crime, they won’t be able to defend against the manufactured evidence.
When Dan Rather was caught palming off the fake National Guard letter about former President George W. Bush he used as an excuse something like: (Approximate remembered Rather quote) “But you know, he has to be guilty of something like this. This may not be true but that doesn’t mean the allegation isn’t true.”

I would go a step further and add that the left has utter contempt for the unwashed masses that voted for President Trump. They cannot believe that this happened. it trashed their entire worldview. look no further than their childish reactions to his Electoral victory, and the infantile antics on Jan. 20.

The real story here was that the Obama administration had engaged in illicit surveillance of Trump campaign officials for months leading up to the election. They thought they'd get away with it because they assumed Hillary Clinton would win the election, and nobody would ever learn about what James Comey and mutants like this Stroker dude were up to.
When Trump won the election they knew their malfeasance was going to be uncovered by the incoming administration, so they concocted the "Russian collusion" story to retroactively justify the surveillance they had been conducting for months.
It's really as simple as that. And it's the illicit surveillance and the shady circumstances surrounding the FISA warrant that was used to give the whole operation legal cover that's going to cause the whole thing to unravel.
Democrats know all too well that they only need to float a little lie for it to be come HUGE and their followers to use that as a backbone for any hatred they already have for everyone who isn’t as evil as they are.

It’s a very very serious error to conceptualize this amazing hidden coup attempt as “it’s the Democrats”, when it’s not.

My understanding of the timeline is the Republicans paid Fusion GPS first, then Hillary's campaign paid Fusion, then Fusion paid Steele.

The democraps via the DNC/HRC got scammed by Russia with the fake dossier and then abused the powers of US government to go after Trump while he was running for office. After losing the WH to their great dismay, in the transition period, the abuse of power continued as an effort to cover up the fact that they were scammed, broke laws (e.g. unmasking) and bring down Trump. And now... With their soldiers deeply embedded in the federal government (DOJ. FBI, Congress...), Mueller, and their control of the MSM outlets, the power struggle continues. Trump has exposed a corruption so deep and systemic by his mere presence and lack of traditional ties to the major parties, I wonder how even more intense this battle would be if there was an AG other than a recused Sessions. The truth seems to be emerging despite this.
Easy. As liberals, if you have no facts, you manufacture them. That is their modus operandi, plain and simple.
With a straight face, and no shame, they will even justify doing so.
Dan Rather’s treatment of the fake Bush National Guard memo is a prime example, and this is widespread and typical among the left.
