This leak sounds like it was done to attempt to provoke Pres. Trump into firing Mueller and/or (more likely) it is an attempt to deflect from the story of the anti-Trump texting Peter Strzok.
None of us know what Mueller is doing.
Nice canary trap. Have to see who gets fired next week.
That would be a big mistake. Since Trump is (i believe) innocent of any wrongdoing in the Russia case, he want’s the most rabid Trump hating investigators possible. They will go overboard and expose themselves like they have been doing for the past several months. I smell a little Steve Bannon straterery here.
Maybe Muller set up a leaker.
The problem with your strategy is that if you have a special prosecutor all up in all your business all the time, you (and all of your staff) will need to walk the tight white line all the time, without one slip. Not only can’t you break the law (and you shouldn’t) but you can’t even accidentally say the wrong thing, appear to mis-represent something, or ask someone to do something that may break some obscure law somewhere. Every time it appears you did, you and people below you will be called to provide even more endless hours of question/answers that can be used against you. Any time you make an appointment, let alone work on actual policy, you will need to consult a team of criminal and constitutional lawyers to make sure you don’t do the slightest thing that Mueller can hold against you.
I just heard Jay Sekulo on the Hannity show verify this.
Seems like the story was first reported by Bloomberg, and then a bunch of other media outlets reported what Bloomberg reported.
The suggestion here is it is the latter - flushing out leakers (black hats).
Sekulow said it was first reported in Germany, which was the source of the Bloomberg report.
Verify that it was true, or that it was fake news?
Are earlier reports that Trump has delivered the records fake too?

It is very difficult to believe that somebody who grew up in the swamp, and devoted his entire 45 year career to serving and protecting the swamp, would suddenly change his stripes and betray the swamp.
And so far there is absolutely no evidence that is happening.
It’s all wishful thinking absent SOME kind of evidence.
