Been there, pard. Coms are the hardest thing to get in that situation. It was frustrating not having eyes or ears that extended beyond the pasture.

I think it was an accident on Wheeler Road, 25+ people stuck. Firefighters got the people into a nearby field and standing by with firetrucks to protect them!

Crud! IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH, HAVE A PLAN, FOLKS, HAVE A PLAN! Begin packing or start a pack list now. This is fast. Do not wait. We lost people in vehicles here in Oct. It is so much quicker than you can imagine and you are going to hit traffic as others flee.

BUMP!

Prayers up for those in the path!!

They are prepping plans to defend Ventura. About to pull the plug and pull all available units to defend Ventura. 10 engines headed in from Orange.

One of the bigger issues is 16% humidity. That is drier than hay. Nearly as dry as kindling.

And aircraft are grounded due to the wind.

If you live in So Cal, you know it’s always hot and dry. I can see from the photos it’s fast moving.

Most of my family is there. Farmers and others .... for many generations.

9 percent humidity in Santa Paula. Fire is burning 1 ACRE PER SECOND IN SOME AREAS. You read that right.

These 'Santa Ana' winds are not all that unusual but the brush is very dry.

How far is this from the Reagan Library, or is this heading in the other direction (north/west)?

As sad as the library is, we are talking about people’s lives. Many trapped, many vehicle accidents, many vehicles beings consumed. As bad as bad gets.

I'm not worried about the library surviving, just wondering the whereabouts of the fire in relation to it since I'm not very familiar with the area and using it as a reference point.

The library is pretty much directly south of where the fire started. The fire is moving west. There is a chance this thing may eat up 45k acres by morning.

Sounds like the fire is in the Ojai Valley along Sulfur Mountain Rd. on the southern end of Ojai, CA. Prayers up for Californians in that area.
